chapter 22: replacement division

we were returned to the squad

"you were given special treatment right cause i never saw you in the garden" ichigo asked curious

"i'd rather not discuss it" i said those days i had to go through torture as papa had to believe i was useless and that the doctor had created my abilities on accident which he did succeed in that regard meaning i also had to be treated as the lowest

"please show me" she said i looked at her and sighed

"follow me" i said there was also hiro who was also going so we followed him we trudged through the snow before entering the building of the replacement division which was your home for a good ten years

"i wonder if their still here" i said

"follow me" i told ichigo as i led the way through the building

"here we are" i said opening the door and entering not at all realizing how stupid that was before it was too late as both me and ichigo were swarmed by parasites i was swarmed by pistils she was swarmed by stamens i knew why it was sad

"ENOUGH" i said and they stopped and turned to me i looked around and sighed

"i want all of you to take a good look at me even the stamens" i said and they did as they were told

"code 013" one asked i nodded

"NEE-CHAN" a bunch of them screamed as i was swarmed again i sighed

"guys please" i said and several guys and girls let go of me

"i told you if i could i would come visit and here we are we aren't up for grabs i'm sorry we are already partners i just came to see you all" i said this caused them all to look down upset

"ichigo these are some friends of mine FC-145, FC-762, FC-817, FC 976, FC-128, and FC-953" i said three of them were pistils and three were stamens in training they partnered with one another and were a close nit group

"FC" she asked

"failed code" i told her she understood immediately

"for the first ten years of my existance i was placed here in the replacement division or as most refer to it the trash division generally when someone loses their partner they would come here we got lucky or you did i was without a partner for four years and was not dragging my friends into the conflict i had with the nines" i said

"while we are grateful you came to see us you are our ticket out of this hell hole so we need you to leave before you get into trouble for being here" FC-128 said she was the leader of group do to her low code the rest nodded and began to push us out and close the door

"what did they mean hellhole" she asked

"you won't like it" i told her she gave me a look and i sighed

"follow me" i said and i led the way throughout the building arriving at our living quarters if you could even call them that

"besides the grueling experiments they did on us to make us better parasites this was our living conditions this one once upon a time was mine hell even haruna my previous partner was from this division because i at the time refused to connect with anyone else i'd intentionally did everything i could to make sure my scores were abysmal" i said 

"how could you live like this" she asked

"because we had no choice, what no one will tell you is that i was born with the abilities i possess, if papa knew of this i would probably nothing more then a live experiment as they find a means to duplicate the process because of this the doctor in order to protect me had to pass it off as an accident something he did caused me to awaken these abilities in other words i had to appear as useless as possible meaning this and those guys you meat they are in papas eyes practically useless less then cannon fodder only useful as quick replacements while a proper replacement is found" i said

"i never knew" she said covering her mouth about ready to throw up as i turned my back to her

"you never would you are an elite code as i am sure your aware these means you would never be subjected to these conditions partners would have to bend to you not the other way around even i bent to meet your expectations" i said i heard a thumb i turned to see the side of her fists against the door frame

"ichigo" i asked

"they made you live like this" she asked i didn't respond i had only seen the look in her eyes once before and it is just as scary now as it was then

"answer me" she orders

"yes" i answered this served to piss her off

"this is not human, first they throw away parasites like slaves, and after that they treat you as worse then trash that others can throw away as they please" ichigo said

"why didn't you tell me this" she asked angerly

"several reasons chief among them would be because it has already happened and i was happy where i was i finally had a family i could call mine one that would support me and because haruna told me i would never be back here again it was over" i said

"then in that she and i disagree this is far from over" she said and she grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me out of the room

"ichigo, where the hell are we going" i asked

"the others need to know this" she responded

"what would that do, it's not like we can just run away and leave APE and the plantations" i said her response though surprises me 

"maybe we will" she said 'this was not going how we planned' i had planned us to take over our plantation but nope i went a little to overboard and revealed a little too much
