Chapter 15.

I ran as fast as I could to JJ's house which felt a lot further away than I remember. When I got there I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the back yard, I followed the sound and sure enough there was JJ with headphones on shooting his gun at a teddy bear, totally oblivious to the fact I was there.

"JJ" I called out a few times getting no response so I tapped his shoulder

"Jesus christ Savannah'' He said turning to me after almost jumping out of his skin "You do not sneak up on someone shooting a gun" He looked at me again, noticing my dirty clothes and sweaty face and red puffy eyes "Wait, what happened? Are you okay?" He asked, looking right at me.

"John B and I, DCS came to take us and we bolted, we got split up, I don't know where John B is" I rambled while trying to stop crying and probably making no sense but he understood me.

"Hey, It's okay" he pulled me into him giving me a hug, slowly rubbing my back instantly calming me down.

"JJ" We heard someone yelling, but JJ didn't let go.

"They know" Pope said to JJ before noticing I was there also "Oh hey Sav"

JJ let go of me and Pope looked at my appearance "Everything okay?" He asked

"Who knows what?" I asked Pope trying to change the topic

"They don't know shit" JJ said to Pope

"I don't even care that Sav is here right now because I am freaking out, Topper knows that I sunk his boat" Pope said making me look at JJ confused

"I'm sorry, you did what?" I asked Pope in shock, this isn't something he would usually do, this is something JJ would usually do.

"How do you know they know?" JJ asked Pope

"Because Topper and Rafe posted outside Heywards and mad dogged me" Pope said both of them ignoring me "They have cameras, they could've seen me" Pope said

"There was no power, how could they have seen you?" JJ said as I rolled my eyes

"It's Figure Eight guys, they have generators" I said stating the obvious

"They don't give scholarships to kids who vengefully sink boats. It's not a good look on my transcript" Pope started to ramble

"Enough with the regret bro, they caved your face in. They hit us, we hit them. It's the law of the jungle" JJ began to say, making me glare at him, of course this was his idea. "Now, if any kooks come up to you and ask if you had anything to do with it, you walk up to them, look them right in the eye and" He paused waiting for Pope to finish his sentence

"Deny the living shit out of it" Pope said

"That's right, deny, deny, deny" JJ said patting Popes shoulder "But for safety, we don't go anywhere without protection" JJ said pointing past me and to the gun

"Are you boys serious?" I asked them both in disbelief

"Sav, you weren't there, you didn't see what they did to Pope" JJ said

"That doesn't make this okay. What you did was wrong, Pope. I kind of expect this sort of behaviour from JJ but you?" I said looking at him, he looked ashamed "This is bad you guys, you can get in serious trouble" I don't think they thought this through.

"I can't believe you talked him into that" I said to JJ. After Pope calmed down and left, JJ told me the whole story of what happened that day.

"We had to do something, they can't just get away with it" JJ said defending his actions
