Therapy

Grace sat in Leslie Thompkins's waiting room anxiously playing with the rings on her fingers. About 5 minutes had passed since Bruce had dropped her off, Grace had protested against the idea but he told her it was only to make sure that she actually went. Grace had taken out her hearing aids while she was waiting, thinking that she could get away with the excuse "My hearing aids are dead." Like she has so many times before.

About 10 minutes had passed Leslie Thompkins walked out of her office with one of her other patients and walked them to the door. Leslie then walked up to Grace and said something that Grace couldn't hear. "Sorry, my hearing aids are dead. I guess we have to reschedule." Grace said and went to leave before Leslie stopped her.

"Good thing I know sign language." Leslie signed to Grace. In response, Grace muttered "fuck" under her breath and rolled her eyes. "Bruce warned me you might play that trick, now let's go."  Leslie signed while leading Grace to her office. Grace put her hearing aids back in, now she was even more annoyed at Bruce. The two walked into the office and Leslie pointed at the small couch telling Grace to have a seat. With an annoyed sigh, she sat on the couch and watched Leslie Take a seat in the chair across from the couch.  "So do you know why you're here?" She asked"

"Because Bruce is an asshole, and I'm only here because I want to be Phobia again. So just give me whatever pill or whatever it is you do and send me on my way." Grace told her wanting to just get this over with.

"Is that how you think this works?" Leslie asked. Grace just shrugged in response. "Do you know why Bruce wanted you to come?" She asked. Once again Grace just shrugged her shoulders"He thinks you are too unstable to be Phobia right now." Hearing this made Grace chuckle a little. "You think that's funny?" Leslie asked confused.

"Yeah, I think it's funny," Grace said shaking her head.

"And why is that," Leslie asked.

"Because have you met Bruce he's the unstable one. He's the one who decided to dress up as a bat and fight crime in the middle of the night. He's the one who picks kids off of the streets. He's the one who's trying to replace Dick!" At this point, Grace was starting to raise her voice out of anger. She was angry and Bruce for making her go to therapy, She was angry at Dick for leaving her, and she was angry at Jason for thinking he could be the new Robin. But mostly she was angry at herself, she didn't know why she was mad at herself, she just was.

"Is that why you're sneaking off in the middle of the night? To get back at Bruce for replacing Dick?"

"No I'm sneaking off because Bruce took away my suit, I mean what else was I supposed to do." Grace snapped at Leslie.

"Why is being Phobia so important to you?" Leslie asked. Grace didn't know how to answer her question, so she just shrugged her shoulders and leaned back on the couch. "Do you think to your fault that Dick left?" This question made Grace's whole body tense up.  The one question that kept Grace up all night. Wondering what made Dick leave and if it was her fault, she couldn't help but feel like it was her fault. She couldn't help but feel as if Dick stopped loving her and that he got tired of her and Bruce, but with Dick never answering his phone calls or texts she might never know the real reason Dick left.
