" have you ever met a stranger you recognized? "
yang jungwon never wanted to fall in love. clearly, the universe was working against him. and the worst part was, he knew. he knew full well she was his soul- ah, he couldn't even say it. he might have just thrown up then and there.

Q1.How did you come up with the title for your book?

A1. To be honest, I picked it because it sounded nice LMAOO but when I really started to think about it, I realized it did connect to my book's plot and overall message. The story is about taking things for granted, and I thought "Nostalgia" which can be defined as a wistful longing for the past, could describe it perfectly.(PS: Honestly Nostalgia is indeed a really attractive and unique word)😌

Q2.How would you describe your book's ideal reader?

A2. In love with someone they'll never have. Kidding, sort of. I think my readers are just people who want something a little lighthearted and pure, because that's the atmosphere I was going for while writing the characters and plot.(PS: Well the first line is kind of true tho)😭

Q3.What comes first for you — the plot or the characters — and why?

A3. The plot comes first for me, and it's usually the ending. I like to know how things are going to end, so that I have enough motivation to start. But, the characters are extremely important as well, and I usually develop them before going into the details of the rest of the plot.

Q4.What's your favorite and least favorite part of publishing?

A4. My favorite part of publishing is definitely the support I get from votes, comments, and all that. It's really motivating to write when you know that people are enjoying your story. But, it can be a blessing and a curse, because my least favorite part of publishing is the fact that you have to edit chapters as they go. Not grammar and spelling, but you really have to know the details of the plot since you can't change information after you publish without confusing the readers who've already read it.(PS: The editing part can be a little irritating)😶

Q5.What part of the book was the most fun to write?

A5. I had a lot of fun writing the ending, or any angsty parts of the story, really. It's fun to play around with the readers' emotions and make them cry, you know. Lol.(PS: It's fun for you, but torture to the readers)😭😂

Q6.Which of the characters do you relate to the most and why?

A6. I often relate to my main character because I make it a point to add some real issues and insecurities that I've experienced first-hand. Imperfections are what make us human.(PS: Quote of the day)🗯

Q7.What is a significant way your book has changed since the first draft?

A7. *MAJOR SPOILERS* I was actually going to have Jungwon not forgive Yebin after he found out she lied. LMAO imagine if it ended like that and he just left her in the end.(PS: Readers would have killed you by now...LOL just kidding)😂

Q8.What perspectives or beliefs have you challenged with this story?

A8. I think I wanted to challenge the idea that a story set in a normal, everyday setting, could have high stakes as well. I wanted to make little moments feel significant, to highlight the happy interactions of two people in love.

Q9.How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?

A9. I used to delete any comments that had negative things to say about my book, and honestly it's not bad to do that if you feel discouraged. Cut that toxicity out of your life smh. But now, I tend to leave them there, because if it's constructive criticism, I take it into account and try to improve. But, if it's just plain, unreasonable hate, I reply to them with a shady comment about their mom or something. Kiddinggg.

Q10.What advice would you give to a writer working on their first book?

A10. Do. Not. Give. Up. Holy crap, you have no idea how many times I thought of discontinuing "Nostalgia" and starting another book because I convinced myself that plot was better or more interesting. Trust me on this, consistency is the most important part in writing. Sometimes, you have to force yourself to write. You won't get anything done if you keep starting over again.
