Surprise!!!

"You're saying," I asked. "It's Sun and Moon's birthday today?!"
The security guard (who was a lot nicer than the night time one) nodded. He told me that Sun and Moon had never had a party just for them! I was shocked. Why didn't they say anything? And why didn't anyone ask?
"If you really want to kiddo, I can distract them while you set one up?" My heart leaped. I was going to give Sun and Moon their very own surprise party!

I got to work on writing a checklist right away. The first thing on my list: cake. Every good party had cake! And food in general. And I knew exactly where to get that!

After getting a staff member to order all the food I'd listed, I decided the best thing to do was raid the FizzyFazz mini fridge. After all, Sun loved his FizzyFazz! I didn't know what Moon liked, so I assumed he'd have the same as Sun. I also thought that the cheese pizza at the PizzaPlex was the best flavour, so I got the staff member to get four boxes of them. They thought it would be too much, but I knew how much pizza I could eat.

Next I focused on decorations. For this, I asked some of my friends for help, as this was going to require tons of work, and I wouldn't be able to do it alone. I managed to create a huge banner with the words "Happy Birthday Sun And Moon!" With a drawing of them at the bottom. I knew that they would love it, especially Sun, as we had used up almost all of the glitter glue. Everyone else got to work on balloons, party hats and everything else that we could find.

I then thought I should have a look through the party cupboard, as it supplied things like napkins and paper plates, which were all birthday themed. I took everything out that I thought we needed and headed off to complete my next task.

Music was also going to be important, so I asked the nice security guard what songs Sun liked.
"He likes happy and upbeat music," he scratched his head. "But Moon... I wouldn't think so. I don't usually work the night shift so I've never really spoken to him before. You'd need something in between..."
"Got it, thank you Sir!" I sang as I skipped off.

"You've been really busy today Y/N!" Sun smiled as he sat next to me. I had stopped briefly for a bottle of FizzyFazz, and I could tell he was eyeing it up. "Anything special going on?"
"Not really." I shrugged. I hated lying to him, but I knew it was worth it. He was going to be so happy!!!
"Alright Sunshine," he sighed. "Can I help with anything?"
"I'm alright, thank you Sun!" I stood up and hugged him. When he let go, he said goodbye and skipped off in the direction of the FizzyFazz fridge.

What was I going to do about the music? I also had to get him out of the daycare somehow. The security guard said he'd do something, but Sun was still happily roaming around, checking in on everyone. I decided I should wait until he does something for me to properly set up.

Just then, the security guard rushed in.
"Sun? You here?"
The sound of jingling bells grew louder and louder until Sun was stood right in front of him. He was a lot taller, but the security guard didn't seem to mind.
"Yes! Hello! Is anything wrong?"
"We're going to have to do your weekly maintenance check now if that's alright with you? Phil isn't free tonight and now is the only time he can do it."
Sun looked around at us. "But... the daycare! What about the children?"
"Don't worry Sun," the security guard reassured. "I'll look after them! Won't I?" He looked at me and smiled. Sun must have thought he'd chosen me at random to speak, so I agreed and he went off to the maintenance room.
"There! Now we can properly set up!" He grinned. "Hello everyone! We're going to give Sun and Moon their very own party, so we all need to help get everything ready! We only have an hour, so we need to hurry!"

Suddenly, everyone was up and about, putting up tables, setting plates and napkins, and hanging decorations. I decided to sort out the music. I found two playlists on the security guards phone, one called "nighttime relaxation" and the other "Summertime Bops". I decided to go for one titled "Summer Nights." I thought that mixed the two pretty well! They were soft but upbeat, exactly what I had been looking for!

An hour passed quicker than we had anticipated, and when we had finally set up, the security guard warned us of Sun's arrival. We all became silent, but we made sure to not turn off the lights. The second we saw Sun, we counted down from 3. 2. 1...

"SURPRISE!!!" Streamers blew, confetti rained down from above, and Sun looked completely speechless. We all clapped and cheered, and ran over to him to give him a group hug.
"Happy Birthday Sun and Moon!" We all cheered, giggling as we did so.
"I... did you... did you guys do all of this... for us?" He looked like he could possibly tear up at any moment. We all nodded, and the security guard emerged from behind Sun.
Well, it was all thanks to Y/N actually! They came up with the idea!" Suddenly everyone turned to face me, including Sun. He looked utterly delighted, and held me tight in his arms.
"I can't believe you did this all for us..." he managed to whisper, his voice cracking for the first time ever.
"Of course I did silly! You and Moon are basically my second parents!" I giggled and held him tighter, my warm heart burning with happiness.

"I think we should get started on this buffet!" The security guard grinned, and took a big slice of pizza from the box, the cheese getting everywhere.
"I want some!"
"Me too!"
"Gimme!"

"And," I added. "Don't think I forgot your FizzyFazz! Does Moon like it?"
"I don't think he's tried it, but who doesn't love it?!" He cried and grabbed hold of a bottle. He gulped it down in one go and continued until an entire row of bottles had been consumed.
"Wot..." I whispered, sad that I didn't get to drink as much as I'd hoped I would. But this was all about Sun!

"Sun?" I asked sweetly as he drank his 1000th drink.
"Mhm?" He mumbled through the bottle.
"Could we possibly see Moon for a bit? I would feel bad if he missed out on all the fun!"
He paused for a moment. "Alright Sunshine. I'd feel bad too. Let's get the lights off!"

Click! The all too familiar red eyes poked out through the darkness. But this time, no one was scared. Everyone ran over to him and surrounded him in hugs. I don't think I had ever seen him look this happy before.
"Y/N?" He called. I emerged from the shadows and smiled at him.
"Did I do well? Have you had fun?" I grinned madly at him, and he returned it with his own goofy smile.
"You know you did well, Starshine. More than well, actually. You really made my- our day..."
I was surprised he'd actually acknowledged Sun, and he looked kind of relieved for it. For the first time, he felt like he didn't have to hide anymore, and I could tell by the way he felt so passionately about looking after us that he'd been hiding for a long time. I was super glad I could make life better for him.

"Don't tell any of the other animatronics about my soft side..." he whispered, blushing. I promised I wouldn't, but I really wanted to know why.
"Why wouldn't you want them to think you're nice (which you are)?" I asked, confusion written across my face.
"It's a long story, and I wouldn't want to bring the mood down." He stared at the ground, an unknown emotion glinting in his eyes. "Anyway!" He continued in that lovely soft voice that always calmed me. "I think we should all rest, seeing as how it's nap time, and we've also had a lot of food!"
Everyone groaned as they had eaten their entire body weights in pizza and FizzyFazz. I had, too, and was feeling particularly tired. I yawned, signalling that I was wanting to go ahead with this nap time idea.

The warm blankets hugged me and I snuggled in closer to them. To my surprise, I fell asleep before we even finished the story. But before that, Moon had whispered "Love you Starshine, goodnight."

Leaving was extremely sad, and I didn't let go of Sun until my parents had to forcibly drag me away from him.
"Sorry about them..." my mum sighed.
"It's alright! Y/N has been wonderful today! You must be very proud to have them as your child." He smiled at me and I had to fight the urge to latch onto his leg and never leave.
"Thank you Sun! Thank you Moon! I hope you had a good time! And I'm really glad I made your day." I waved them off, as usual, but Sun seemed sadder than usual to see me go.
"We'll see you soon Sunshine! Have a safe journey home!" He waved. "And," he added, making me stop to look back at him. "We'll really miss you! See you tomorrow Y/N!"

I skipped out of the doors feeling content, and most of all proud that I could make a difference.

|| Just to clarify, when Moon said "love you" to Y/N, he meant it in a parental way because he hadn't had any sort of love or affection before. Please do not take it the wrong way... ||
