A few weeks after the power cut, I started to become friends with Laura. She began to come to the Daycare more and more, and I was really excited, because I was finally beginning to make a friend who wasn't horrible or an animatronic (as much as I adored Sun and Moon). Every day I would arrive, Laura would be waiting. It became a regular thing, and Sun and Moon had noticed.

"Good morning Sunshine!" Sun cheered merrily one day. Laura had told me she wasn't going to be in that day, which was unfortunate. But I still had Sun and Moon!
"Morning Sun!" I grinned back. As per usual, I grabbed onto him and pulled him into a hug. As we were hugging, he whispered something to me.
"I'm really happy for you, Y/N." I could hear his smile. I suddenly felt confused. Why was he happy for me?
"Hm?" I replied with bewilderment. Sun paused for a moment, and I could tell he was also starting to get confused.
"I mean with you making friends, Sunshine!"
"Oh! That!" I sighed, oddly enough, with relief. I smiled at the thought of it.
My friend Laura.
"You've been so happy recently, Y/N, and me and Moon can both agree on that. For once." He giggled nervously after he'd finished. From experience, I knew that they didn't always get along, and it would take something either absolutely amazing or awful to get them to agree on anything.
"I guess so..." I beamed. It was true. After leaving my old, toxic friends behind, I didn't have anyone but Sun and Moon. But once Laura became my friend, I realised that not all people are mean, and they shouldn't always be mean. It was something I had to learn the hard way.
"Anyway, we just wanted to catch up with you, as you've been super busy lately!" Sun beamed. "But that's okay, because we've been busy too!" He added, definitely making sure I wasn't going to feel guilty. I smiled. I was so lucky to have friends like them!

After catching up for the entire time, my parents did eventually have to pick me up.
"Goodbye Sunshine! We'll see you tomorrow! Stay safe!" He grinned from ear to ear (or rather, sunbeam to sunbeam). I couldn't help but smile back; he was always so positive, it was contagious.
"See you tomorrow guys! Bye!" I waved as I left the Daycare for the day.

Once at home, mum started to make dinner. I was just about to put the tv on when I heard her call me from the kitchen. I sighed and stood up, gently throwing the remote onto the sofa as I rose.
"Hey, sweetie, I've had a message from the father of someone called 'Laura'. Is she from Daycare?"
Excitement began to course through me, and for a moment, I thought I was about to burst!
"Yeah, she's my new friend!" I grinned. Mum looked really happy about that, but continued to talk.
"Well, her father said that she wants you to go for a playdate tomorrow! Isn't that exciting?" She scooped me up into her arms and held me tightly.
"I'm so, so proud of you, Y/N. You're finally making good friends!"
"Yeah..." I smiled sheepishly.
"So... do you want to go?"
"YES!" I began bouncing up and down on the spot. It was going to be my first time with Laura outside the daycare! Mum looked pleased with my reaction.
"Oh, and can you set the table for me please?" She asked. I groaned, and reluctantly did as I was told.
All throughout dinner, I couldn't concentrate on what anyone else was saying. All I could think about was tomorrow. The adrenaline was still there, and for the entire time, my leg was bouncing up and down very fast. It was a habit, something I did when I was either anxious or excited. I scoffed down my fish fingers, chips and peas, and tried to do anything I could to make the rest of the day speed by.
I ended up watching tv, and whilst it was blaring, keeping me happily entertained, I could hear faint footsteps which kept coming into the living room which I was in, and back into the kitchen. At one point, I glimpsed over my shoulder to see if the person was still there, but to my annoyance, there was no one.
That night, I went to bed an hour early just so it could be the next day. However, I severely misjudged how active my brain was going to be. So I ended up falling asleep around two hours later than normal.

I never felt energetic in the morning. I was a night owl, not a morning person. The only good thing about the morning was breakfast. However, I had a reason to be excited when I woke up that day, and as I sprinted out my bed, the excitement continued to grow.
I crept downstairs (as my parents had been called into their work late last night and I heard the phone conversation) since they were still asleep. I raided every last cupboard until I found the cereal one. I hastily grabbed a bowl from the cupboard underneath, along with a spoon. I then ran over to the fridge, where, with a bit of struggle, I managed to get the milk out.
I began to pour in the cereal - the coco pops were a sight for sore eyes, as it was very rarely that I got any sort of chocolates cereal. I was used to plain Shreddies and Weetabix though, and although they didn't sound the most appetising, they still tasted nice!

After downing my coco pops, I headed back upstairs to check my watch.
"7:45..." I whispered. I was going to be arriving at the Daycare at 9:00 am, which left me over an hour to get dressed, brush my teeth, pack my bag, and just to overall get ready. I sighed, misery beginning to drain my positivity. I didn't know if I could even wait that long! But I knew I had to, as it was either wait for a while or not go at all, which I was not going to do at all costs.

Around half an hour later, once I had brushed my teeth and gotten dressed, mum came downstairs, wiping the sleep from her eyes and yawning loudly as she did so. She smiled.
"Good morning sweetie. I'm impressed how quick you've gotten up today-" she paused as though she remembered something. "Ah yes, you're going to... Layla? Lara? L...L..."
"Laura!" I giggled, unable to contain the huge grin that was spread across my face.
"Laura, that's it!" She smiled.
A few minutes went by as she quizzed me on what I'd done so far.
"Do you still need me to pack your Daycare bag? I mean, you're very grown up now, making friends and everything, so why don't you try to pack?"
I groaned, knowing I couldn't get out of it. So I trudged over to my things and began to pack, trying to be as slow and messy as possible. Mum didn't notice me though, probably on purpose, and instead began making toast for herself. The smell awakened dad, his heavy footsteps trudging down the creaky stairs.
"Morning." He yawned, nodding over at mum first, then at me. I was happy to have been acknowledged by him, as mum was trying to ignore my antics.

After breakfast, mum and dad both quickly got dressed and rushed me out the door. Usually I wouldn't have sprinted to the car as fast as I did, but I had a reason to today. I clipped my seat belt in and sat in anticipation. Mum and dad were being comparatively very slow, and I groaned at them to hurry up as they somewhat unwillingly got in. The roar of the engine fuelled my adrenaline, and suddenly we lurched forwards, my hopes rising as we made our way to the Daycare.
