The timer

Timer

In this universe everyone is born with a timer telling them how long it will be until they meet their soulmate, some people were born with only a few years or maybe even months, some weren't born with one at all meaning their soulmate is already dead or maybe just not born yet.

Lauren Jauregui was born without one her parents just assumed her soulmate wasn't born yet but, when Lauren was 3 they assumed they had died and thought Lauren would never have a soulmate.

When Lauren was 5 years old she woke up with a strange timer above her head, she thought she was still in a dream so she stayed in bed watching it.

"What you going to do?" She asked the strange timer, it didn't talk back or well do anything over than count down.

"Lauren, time to wake up sweetie" Lauren's mom, Clara, said Lauren nods.

"Mama, what's the timer above my head? I thought it was a dream but no still here" Lauren said to her mother, Clara stopped as she was getting Lauren's clothes.

"What did you just say?" Clara asked, Lauren points above her head

"Timer" Lauren said simply not wanting to repeat everything she just said, Clara smiles.

"I've got to go tell your dad, stay here" Clara said happily, she rushes to her room to tell Mike her husband.

"Mike, Lauren has got her timer" Clara said, Mike looks surprised

"5 years later? Doesn't that mean her soulmate was just born?" Mike asked

"Yes, but I mean 5 years isn't that bad at least it's not 20" Clara said, Mike nodded

"When will they meet?" Mike asked, Clara shook her head

"I didn't ask" Clara said, he nods

"Go ask" Clara nodded and goes to Lauren's room, she continues to get her daughter ready

"What does the timer say?" Clara asked Lauren, Lauren looks up

"18, 2, 25" Lauren said, Clara nods

"You'll be...23 years old" Clara said, Lauren just looks at her mom strangely

"We'll tell you soon about the timer okay, you've got to get to school, but first some breakfast" Clara said when Lauren was ready for school and her bag was packed.

Camila Cabello is now 10 years old and never really asked about her timer or payed any notice, she didn't really care.

"Mija" Sinu, Camilas mother, called for her Camila goes to her mother in the living room.

"Yes" she asked

"We want to ask you about the timer above your head, you have one yes?" Alejandro asked, Camilas father

"Yes" Camila nodded

"What does it say?" Alejandro asked

"8,4,28" Camila said, he nods

"She'll be 18, that's a good age to meet" Alejandro said, Sinu nodded

"I hope this boy is not too much older" Sinu said, Alejandro nodded

"2 years is the only age gap for our daughter" Alejandro said, Sinu nodded

"I agree, go play Mija" Sinu said, camila wondered off confused, but she lost all interest when she picked up her doll.
