Natasha holds tightly to Mackenzie the whole flight home. Clint looks to the two of them curled up together on the blankets on the ground in the far corner of the plane. Natasha's eyes slipping closed and opening again quickly. She's attempting to stay awake
Clint clears his throat and says "You can rest, it's alright."
Natasha grumbles and says "I'm not tired."
Clint shakes his head and says "Are you always this stubborn?" She glares at him and says "When it comes to protecting my daughter, yes." Clint nods and says "I respect you wanting to get your daughter out of the crime life." She looks to him warily and says "Just because we've been stuck with you for a few days it doesn't mean I have to listen to you."
Clint chuckles and says "You should be thanking me. I just got you and your daughter out of a shitty life in the kgb."
She sighs and grumbles "Thank you. I owe you a debt."
"So, what's her name?"
Natasha sweeps the red hair out of her daughters face and says "Legally her name is subject 255. Or project winterwidow."
"And I heard you calling her moose. Is that her given name?"
Natasha looks to him having an internal battle on whether to trust this man or not with the safety and identity of her daughter. Ultimately she decides he can know her first name "I named her Mackenzie."
He smiles and says "I like it."
She sits up and says "I've never told anyone her name before."
He looks to her and says "You haven't?"
Natasha shakes her head as she quickly pushes down her emotions "She wasn't allowed to be called anything other then her title. She wasn't allowed to be named. Her father- when he was conscious... apparently he knew her name."
Clint says "Should we change her name once she gains a new alias?"
Natasha looks down and says "No. She's a Mackenzie."
He smiles and says "Then she'll stay a Mackenzie. She's a cute kid. She's got the whole Bambi eyes thing going for her."
