Kiba's Point of View

On the way home, Akamaru began sniffing the air and barking. "What's wrong Akamaru?" I asked him with concern. He didn't answer, instead he ran off, leaving me to chase after him. I furrowed my brows, Why's Akamaru acting so weird?

"Get away from her!" I heard a girl yell. I ran over to find my new teammates being held to the ground by some random Genins.

"Hey!" I yelled at the boys, "Get off of them!" I saw Kai's eyes widen, and I winked at her. The boys snickered and mocked me. I glared at them, "Shut up!" I wasn't just angry at them for hurting my teammates now. Now, they were mocking me, and I wouldn't let them get away with it. I ran at them, trying to punch them, only to be kicked away. Now it's going to get serious!

Kai's Point of View

When the boys were distracted by Kiba, I took the opportunity and stood back up, activating my Byakugan. I ran over to the boy that was making fun of Hinata and blocked one of his chakra points, then proceed to kick him away. I helped Hinata up and motioned for her to run back to the compound. She looked at me with concern, but I gave her a stern look, "Go Hinata-Nee." I told her. I turned back around and ran over to help Kiba while the other two boys ran to help their friend. Kiba had an outraged look on his face, so I put a hand on his shoulder and smiled with closed eyes, "It's okay Kiba-kun. We shouldn't cause a scene. Let's just go." I had picked up Hinata's trait of saying honorifics, so occasionally it would slip out. When I opened my eyes he had a faint blush on his face and seemed a lot more relaxed. I shrugged of his blush and looked back at the boys who were now angry because of what I did to their friend.

"We should run now." I said, deactivating by Byakugan and grabbing his hand, running in a random direction. By the time we stopped running, we were both out of breath, our faces flushed from exhaustion. The boys had disappeared long ago, but we hadn't noticed and kept running. We stopped at a tree. It was pretty small, and obviously had a lot of growing to do. I was still holding Kiba's hand, but I was so tired I didn't realize, and even if I did, I wouldn't have cared. Akamaru was tucked away in Kiba's jacket as we ran. I felt bad for him; it must've been so uncomfortable. As Kiba and I sat on the grass, Akamaru jumped out of his jacket and began walking around us. "Sorry Akamaru." I mumbled as my eyes closed slowly. I leaned against Kiba. Maybe I could take a short nap...

Kiba's Point of View

As Kai began to sleep I yawned, not even noticing we were still holding hands. You're still holding hands, Akamaru barked. I couldn't help turning bright red. I looked down to see Kai fast asleep. I swear I saw something under her bangs, but I brushed it off and looked at her. She mumbled in her sleep with an occasional light snore in between words. In her sleep, she snuggled closer to me, making me even more red. Soon, I began drifting off to sleep. Kai's head was resting on my shoulder, and my head was resting on hers. I knew my mom would get angry at me for being late, but I didn't feel like thinking about that. I just thought about now.
