Chapter 1: My Lucas

Finally. I already got that 4 letters added to my name. Now, let's get that MD.

It is my first day here at Alpha Spring Hospital. I decided to take their offer after finishing the boards. Partner kasi ng school namin ang hospital na ito, and I think they saw my potential so they gave me an offer. I am currently a junior intern here.

"Good morning Blue!! Ang aga natin ah" masiglang bati ni Nicka sa akin. Kaklase ko siya sa med school at siya ang kasama ko lagi eversince I entered med school.

As interns, we are rotating to different departments here in the hospital. Pwedeng sa Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Med, and other subspecialties.

"Hi Nicka." I greeted back.

"So here are the common cases I reviewed para may background naman ako. I'll send them to you. Basahin mo ha." sabi niya habang pinapakita yung Ipad niya sa akin.

I decided to start the things I needed to do right away. Lalo na first day ko and I need to prove that I deserve to be here.

Alpha Spring Hospital is one of the best hospitals here in the Philippines. It is owned by the Wolf Family-no,not the animals. It's their last name.

This hospital is the dream of all the Med students in the country. Sobrang ganda kase ng facilities, maraming benefits at mataas din ang sweldo dito.

Pagkapasok palang dito may escalator ka na makikita sa pinakagitna at elevators naman sa gilid. Para siyang mall.

Nasa pinakadulo ng main entrance ang emergency room, so doon dumadaan ang mga ambulance.

It actually took time before I decided to work here because I knew that he will also be here and God knows how he despises me after everything that has happened. This is their hospital in the first place and I can't do anything about it.

PT Intern palang ako when Mrs. Wolf talked to me one time and invited me to work here.

7:00 AM palang at 8:00 palang ang orientation ng mga interns so nagdecide kami ni Nicka na magbreakfast sa Ground Floor cafeteria dito sa hospital.

Sumandal ako sa upuan ko at pinikit ang mata ko dahil wala akong tulog kakaisip kung paano ako makakaiwas sakanya kung sakali mang magkita kami dito.

Habang nakapikit ako, narinig ko yung mga tao na nagbubulung-bulungan.

"He's so handsome, omg!"

"Is that him?"

"It's also his first day as intern, right?"

"The heir of the Alpha Spring Hospital has finally arrived."

Binuksan ko agad ang mata ko at tumingin sa may entrance. Glass wall naman ang cafe so I saw him walking with his usual cold face papunta sa Escalator.

That cold face. tsk.

I just smiled sadly. I last saw him when we took the boards kaso linampasan niya lang ako na parang wala siyang nakikita.

I miss him.

Almost 3 years na din simula nung iniwan niya ako.

"Hoy asul, wag mong sabihing crush mo na din yung mayabang na yun." I looked at Nicka pagkasabi niya nun. Mukhang nakita niya yung ngiti ko sakanya.

Hindi ko na nasabi sakanya ang nangyari sa aming dalawa dahil simula ng pumasok akong med school. I tried to forget everything that happened and start anew.

"Ha? bakit naman mayabang?" tanong ko kay Nicka.

"Lucas Sky Wolf. Anak siya ng may-ari ng Alpha Spring Hospital tapos nagaaral siya sa isa sa mga school na iniisponsoran ng hospital na to. Matino pa naman daw siya nung mga College pa lang siya pero nung nag Med school daw biglang nag-iba daw." pagkukwento ni Nicka.

"What do you mean nagiba?" I asked.

"Naging badboy daw. Sobrang insensitive daw magsalita at parang wala na daw siyang puso at kaluluwa teh." she said.

"Ha? What do you mean?" I asked.

"Curious na curious teh ha, sinasabi ko sayo wag na lang. Hanap ka ibang crush. Nagkaroon nga siya ng malaking away dun sa school niya dati. Kalat na kalat sa ibang univ ang nangyari nun. Eh pano ba naman, he almost beat that guy to death. Muntik na siyang makulong pero feel ko, his family handled the situation, kaya ayun, after a week, back to school na siya. Kaso nung bumalik na siya ayun, wala nang lumalapit sakanya maliban sa mga kaibigan niya kase takot na silang lahat sakanya." Nicka said bago tumunog ang alarm niya.

"Tara na sa conference room." She said at naglakad na kami.

What she said...

Hindi ganun si Lucas.

That is not Lucas.

That is not My Lucas.
