Everyday I wake up, I am slowly accepting the situation I have now. It's hard but I know as days pass by, I am progressing...I am healing.
It's been a few days since nalipat na kami ng rotation sa Pedia Ward. And so far, we can say that although it is very toxic in this rotation, it's still one of my favorites. Nandito kaming lahat ngayon sa lounge. I am doing paperworks. Si Lucas naman ay tulog habang may kape sa table. Nag-all nighter kase siya because he is really desperate to save his patient. Si Kai naman ay naghahanap ng makakain sa counter habang si Nicka kanina pa namimilit na mag-street foods.
"Hey, Blue! Tara, bili na tayong kwek kwek!" pamimilit sa akin ni Nicka kanina pang umaga. I am so busy with the paperworks kaya hindi ko siya pinapansin mula kanina.
"Tara na, guys!" imbita din ni Kai na mukhang inip na inip na kanina pa. Dahil sa lakas ng boses niya, tumayo si Lucas at nagtimpla ng kape.
"You need sleep, Doc." pansin ni Kai kay Lucas. Mukhang di man siya narinig ni Lucas.
"How's your patient pala with Leukemia?" I asked him.
He looked at me and I saw how tired he is. "Still no progress. It gets worse."
"You need to rest." I said at tumango lang siya.
"I will, I just need to finish something." He said at bumalik na ulit sa table niya. He's been doing research about ways to save his patient.
"Tara na nga, quek quek na tayo." I said at tumayo na ako. Masayang tumalon si Nicka at naghanda na kaming lumabas.
"Hindi ka sasama?" I asked Lucas. Hindi ko alam but lately, mas nadadalian na akong kausapin siya.
"Tara na, bro!" hila niya kay Lucas. Wala naman nagawa si Lucas at napasama na din.
"5 pong quek quek!" malakas na sabi ni Nicka.
Nang makabili na kaming apat ay naglakad na kami pabalik sa Hospital. Katapak pa lang namin sa hospital ay biglang tumunog ang mga pager namin. Iniwan na lang namin ang mga kinakain namin sa tabing table.
"This is code blue." Lucas said. Mabilis kaming tumakbo sa kwarto ng pasyente. And we saw our senior doctors reviving the child already. We just stood there when suddenly the child was revived. It is Lucas' patient, he was so worried as if she was his own child.
"Hey, it's okay. She will be okay." I comforted Lucas. We are now here sa lounge after what happened.
"Labas lang ako." He said at deretso nang umalis.
I finished all the paperworks. Pumikit muna ako sandali sa couch sa lounge dahil inaantok na ako. I suddenly woke up when I heard someone talking.
"Fuck, what!?"
"So, are you saying all this time, you dated me for money?"
"Great. Now we're through." he coldly said then he turned off his phone.
I was just looking at him. Nagulat ako nang magtama ang mata namin.
"Sorry, I woke you up." he said at bumalik na lang siya ulit sa pagbabasa.
"Where are the others?" I asked.
