Promise

The wedding was held on a private island that Adrian, unsurprisingly, owned. 

On their last night on the island, they decided to take a stroll on the beach. Hand in hand, they walked along the bank with Eli not far in front of them, running around chasing the birds. 

"Papa!" Eli's voice rings through the air as he turned to look at the two. "Look at -" his sentence was cut short with a splash. He had tripped and fell into the water, soaking himself from head to toe. 

Zayne chuckled as his hand slipped from Adrian's and he walked over to Eli who was struggling to get himself up. 

He easily lifted him to his feet and away from the waves. "Are you okay?" Adrian asked as he squatted down in front of Eli. He coughed out a little water but other than that, he was fine. 

Zayne came down too, reaching over to wipe the water and sand out of Eli's face. "Next time watch where you're going yea?" In response, Eli gave a solemn nod and a little sneeze. The wind was strong and he was soaked, of course he was cold. 

Adrian hummed as he stood up, taking his t-shirt off and slipping it over Eli's head. It reached all the way to his ankles and the sleeves covered almost three quarters of his arms but he let out another sneeze. 

"Come here." Adrian said before wrapping his arms around Eli and scooping him off his feet. Zayne's eyes were glued on them as he got up, he never would have thought this was what his life would be like but he was pretty glad it turned out this way. 

He reached over to adjust Adrian's shirt on Eli, making them both turn to look at him. "Should we go back?" He asked. 

Eli shook his head, he liked it out here. 

Adrian chuckled as he shifted Eli onto one arm and with his free hand, he intertwined fingers with Zayne. "It's already past your bedtime sweetheart." He said and started walking back towards the house. 

"But Papa said I could stay up tonight." Eli looked up at him with huge puppy eyes. Adrian couldn't say no to that face. Zayne chuckled, "I did promise." 

"Just tonight." Adrian gave in and agreed. Eli was grinning from ear to ear. "How about a movie?" Zayne suggested as they walked up the pavement to the house. This time, Eli nodded. 

Once they got in, Adrian let Eli down and he ran toward the theatre. "Wash up first and then we'll watch the movie." Adrian called out, making Eli turn and run up the stairs instead. 

Zayne shut the door and walked up to Adrian who wrapped his arm around Zayne's waist, pulling him closer. He leaned down, placing a kiss on Zayne's head. 

There's a small chuckle from Zayne as he leaned into Adrian's chest. "Are we staying up tonight too?" He asked, peeking up at Adrian. 

"And here I thought you would never ask." Adrian continued in a lower voice as he started leading the way to the theatre, "there's a special room just for you."
