Five years and some change later

Sitting down at one of the tables of a cute little cafe down the street from her apartment Jamie asked for an iced tea while she waited for Peter to show up. Even though it was March it was unfortunately still too cold to sit outside. As the waitress walked away with her drink order she thought to herself that as happy as she was to have him and everyone else back it was strange to be doing something so casual after they'd been 'dead' for five years. Her and the rest of the world had grieved for their lost loved ones and had moved on as best they could over the ensuing years. Then out of the blue this last October everyone who'd dusted showed up right where they'd vanished.

Jamie chuckled to herself at the memory of the extremely attractive and confused naked man appearing in her Manhattan apartment's living room, confused to see that his girlfriend didn't live there anymore. Shock filled them both as he'd covered himself with one of her throw pillows and asked what the hell was going on. After hastily finding him some pants and a shirt from an old boyfriend in the back of her closet she was piecing together what was happening when Mathew's ringtone started playing on her phone. Somehow they'd all come back.

Not questioning it for a second she gave the now formerly naked man some cash for a cab and booked it back to Queen's. The reunion had been two fold as May and her uncle were both down in the lobby waiting for her looking confused and exactly as they had when they dusted. All three were wrecked with emotion as they cried and took turns hugging. She tried to explain as best she could what happened before the question of where Peter was came up. Tearfully she told May that he'd gone with Tony on the ship that had shown up and had dusted on another planet. Unsure if he was alive and trapped on another world or if he even came back at all they decided to head to the Compound for answers.

The trip took three times as long because of the massive influx of people that had appeared and were trying to find friends and family. Then there was the wave of traffic that was headed south that none of them really thought about until they saw the three massive spaceships hovering over the Hudson. Staying well back from the destroyed Compound and the army of aliens swarming it Jamie, May and Mathew waited to see what would happen. They watched as huge waves of people came through the sparkling orange portals she recognized from Washington Square park five years ago. Hope bloomed in her chest that somehow Peter was amongst them, but she tamped it down so as to not have her heartbroken all over again if he wasn't.

The battle raged for what seemed like hours when out of nowhere the aliens and their ships began to turn to dust. Panic filled her whole being as she clutched onto Mathew and May. Just in case they said their goodbyes and I love yous; but it wasn't any of them that died. As the wind blew what was left of the invading army away, the army belonging to the Avengers was left bloody but still very much alive. Speeding up the driveway until rubble halted the cars' progress they all got out and ran the rest of the way on foot. Spotting a few recognizable faces in the sea of strangers Jamie searched for one in particular. Carefully picking her way through the torn up grounds of what was left of the Avenger's Compound, she called out his name repeatedly as Matt and May broke off from her to do the same. "Peter! Peter Parker!"

When no one seemed to know who that was she began asking, "Has anyone seen Spider-Man?" But too many people were milling around dazed and tired. Some were injured and seeking help, other's looking for lost friends the same as her.

As she slipped down a steep embankment she fell straight into the arms of a bearded shaggy haired brunette man with a black and gold metal arm. Barely thanking him as he put her back on her feet she took off when she spotted a familiar mop of curly brown hair standing next to a smiling Tony and Pepper Stark.

"Peter! Oh my god, you're alive!" Throwing herself into his arms Jamie clung to her best friend and the closest person she had to a brother as she sobbed happy tears into his neck. Tightly wrapping his arms around her Peter picked her up and held her before setting her down to hug his aunt and her uncle. Reluctantly taking her eyes off of her friend she looked over to Tony and asked, "How? How is this possible?"
