Josie POV

I couldn't believe Alaric.

"Mom I want to have a word with you." I said

"Sure." She says before I pulled her over to a more quieter spot.

"What's going on with Alaric?" I asked

"What?" She asked

"What's going on with him?" I asked as I pointed at Alaric.

"That's your father... why are you calling him Alaric?" She asked

"He's not my dad so save the bullshit mom... what I really want to know is how can you let him do this? Especially to Lizzie? She doesn't deserve to be treated like this." I said

"I can't do anything if your father— I mean Alaric made me sign all my rights over to him." She says

"What?" I asked

"Alaric made it so that I couldn't take you guys or say anything... he has full custody of you and Lizzie." She says

"I'm a grown ass women mom.... As far as I know I'm 19 so that means I can make my own decision." I said

"But you aren't the one that's hurt... it's your sister who is hurt." My mom says

"But that means he won't have control and we can get her surgery as soon as possible." I said

"That will just affect her even more... we have to make sure she has a nice funeral at least instead of wasting our time." She tells

I scoffed. "You can't be serious." I said

"Josie, truth me when I say I know what I'm doing with this." She says

She then walked off.

"Come here" Hope says as she pulled me into a hug.

"No hope. This is my fault." I said

"How? Please tell me how this shit is on you?" She asked

"Maybe if I wasn't so distracted with things then maybe I could have been there with her and maybe I could have taken that bullet." I said

"Are you crazy? We both know Lizzie wouldn't have let you do that and she would have just been beating herself up about it just as you are." She says

"I—I— I think I need to leave. To find answers... I think I know something that I'm not supposed to." I heard cece say

I then turned around.

"What do you mean?" I asked

Hope then wiped a tear from my eye.

"Remember that box your mom led me to?" She asked

"Yes." Hope says

"I found something in there. I need you to help me take a closer look at it.." she says

"But I can't leave Josie here all alone." Hope said

"I will be fine... I promise." I said

She nodded her head before she started to walk off with cece.

She then turned back around.

"No matter what happens ti amo" she says before she started to walk off again.

"I—..... I love you too..." I tried saying louder but she was out of ear reach yet again.

Hope POV

"What is it that you wanted to tell me?" I asked

We then made our way to her car.

"Look... I called up Kaleb and he told me that Cleo was working on this case" cece says
