Your mother told you of the horrors of the Fire Nation. She warned you to never venture inside their nation. Never speak to a member of the Fire Nation. Least of all, fall in love with one.
They did horrible things and killed so many people after the last avatar, master of all elements, died and the air nomad avatar went into hiding.
She also warned you to never associate with the avatar who was selfish and let so many people die, including their entire nation, in the name of 'safety.' They were the only ones who could stop the Fire Nation. But, because of their one-hundred-year hiding, the fire nation had gained far too much power and millions had suffered.
It was time for people to stop believing in the Avatar's return. The Fire Nation was nearing success in the war. It was time for them to rise up themselves. And you were the only one who could change your future, not just some false hope, she would always tell you.
