Every day was an adventure with Leon, getting lost was never an issue if it was with him. Somehow, he made getting lost a good thing, something you always took with you.
You and Leon had been best friends for your entire lives, doing everything together. You got your first starter pokemon and traveled together, got into trouble together, everything. Even after he became the champion at ten years old, you stayed friends. He took every opportunity to sneak away and be with you.

You woke up to the sound of your phone. You had taken an afternoon nap, it looked like the sun was starting to sink below the horizon.
You rose from your bed, tossing the covers carelessly aside and reached out for your phone. It was a text from Leon.
Meet me in Hulburry, 5 minutes.
You smiled, Leon was always so last minute. It had been eight years since he became the champion. It certainly kept him busy, so you jumped at every opportunity to see him. To hear his voice.
He said, "Let's get out of this town
Drive out of the city, away from the crowds"
I thought "heaven can't help me now"
Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down
Just thinking about him stabbed you in the heart with guilt.
You hadn't told him yet. And you weren't even sure if you could. Every step was painful as you moved about your room to get some proper clothes on, a simple flower print dress, a jean vest and some sandals. You dodged the half-full moving boxes and strode to the front door.
Your shoulders sagged as you heard your mom call from the kitchen. "Honey, where are you off to?"
"I'm going to see Leon, he has a little time today." You glanced back hopefully. Please let me go.
"Well, okay. But don't stay out too long."
"I won't."
"Sweetie?"
"What?"
She popped out from the kitchen doorway, looking concerned. "Have you told him yet?"
Another stab. "N-no."
She just stared at you for a while, her eyebrows furrowed. "You shouldn't have waited so long. We're leaving tomorrow."
A tear fell from your eye, you turned away, hoping she hadn't seen. As soon as you heard the floor creak from your mother moving forward trying to comfort you, you turned and dashed out the door, ignoring her protest. There was nothing your mom could do to fix your shattering heart. Nothing.
As soon as you put some distance between you and her, you called up a flying taxi and soon landed in Hulburry. You couldn't help but stare at the beautiful surroundings and the orange tinted sky. Then a flash of Leon's beautiful hair caught your eye, he was next to the pokemon center, looking lost as always.
