Existentialism

We can go down this road,
Questioning everything we've ever been told,
There's always two sides of the story,
There's always ideas, reasons, and doubts,
But I rather have freedom of thought about those than be locked in a windowless house.

Open minded but not malleable,
Able to comprehend,
Using the outside to expand my within.
Discussing any aspect of anything anyone wants to talk about,
Just to get a glimmer of something different from the mediocrity bin.

Life is like that constantly,
And sometimes I feel like taking leave,
Because at the end of the day,
What point is there to see,
When we're all born to be dead more or less in 3,962 weeks.

Will it live on with me in the afterlife?
What's the point of inquiry if you're just going to be hung out to dry?
Questioning the point in questioning life only to not survive?
Is my soul going to live out there?
Or is my body just another grave on the site?

But the worse fear of all,
The one that makes me feel weak,
Is,
Will I be forced into a mentality where I am unable to freely think?
In a way that just makes learning more about life seem pointless and bleak.
