"Mr. Kim, boss wants to see you in his office!" Agent Park called out as he reached out to Taehyung who was fiddling his fingers nervously.
"Shit, did he know that I fucked up real bad this time?" He gulped slowly. "I don't think so. The other assassin — was his name Min Yoongi? — was able to reach out before you even fucked it up."
The male sighed in relief and stood up from the seat. "Phew, I'm glad. I thought I was really going down bad because of last night."
Jimin just laughed, patting the assassin's back for goodluck.
Taehyung opened his boss' door, only to see him with a cigarette between his lips. "Mr. Kim, I assume the last job I ordered you to, was a success?"
The assassin shivered from fear as he knew that his life was at its stake whenever he pulls off a failure.
"Mm, yes, sir." He confidently confirmed his boss, although his insides were screaming. "That's good. I heard Min assisted you. Was the young lad tough?"
"Very tough, sir. But, we managed to investigate his home to see boxes of drugs just delivered." The male answered, inviting himself on the couch because he knew the boss wouldn't mind it right now — he wasn't mad at him, that's a good sign.
His boss smirked, "I'm impressed, Kim. You never once fail to disappoint me." He turned his head towards Taehyung, looking all proud of him. "The government is grateful to have you as a secret agent and an assassin. Good work." He added.
"Ah, no, sir! I-I am just doing my job." The fellow worker smiled a little. "I mean, Kim! Look at you! After a year, you were able to succeed in many missions. You're an honor to save this country from criminals."
To clear it off, Taehyung was a secret agent who worked for the government. It was like being a police officer, but more on spying people and make missions. Also, he uses his sniper from time to time if ever that was part of a mission. it just happened a year ago and now after just being trained for three months, his boss declared that he would be part of one of the teams.
"Thank you, sir. I will keep it up." The agent replied shortly as he wasn't used to the boss complimenting about his skills.
The man cleared his throat and spoke again, "I actually have a new mission for you. And, I think you're the only one you could do this."
"Why so?"
"Your mission is to actually bring Jeon Jungkook here." Taehyung froze. He hasn't heard of that name for a year and now that he did, his breath hitched for a second before asking, "J-Jeon Jungkook?"
His boss chuckled lowly, "I'm fully aware that you are his ex-husband, Kim. And that is why I need you in the mission."
"But, why? Why can't somebody else do it?" He didn't want to face the younger after such events that had happened once in the past.
"Let me get myself straight here, Kim. His father died a few months ago and now we can't arrest him which is very disappointing since he leads one of the biggest gangs in the country. But, we have to ask him questions and have him spill where his father had kept all his illegal stuff."
Taehyung frowned, "But, why me?"
"Kim, I don't like nosing into someone else's personal life but ever since you both got divorced on something, he's been distancing himself and always alone. I am sure, he'd only come and talk to you." His boss explained.
