A graceful spark, the tenacity for that one moment, this love, this dance they've been dancing to for uncountable years. And that time of the day, finally came— Valentines Day.
"Daiki, how was your school, darling?" a smile drew on your lips as you gave your son, who grew up already to be seventeen years old, a peck on the cheek. "Don't tell me you already got a girlfriend."
"No, I didn't, mom." Daiki laughed it off, absolutely uncomfortable with the atmosphere.
He took of his shoes and left them near the entrance, then dropped his navy blue bag and pulled something out from it. "But I did get you a bouquet of your favorite flowers."
Your eyes lits up, witnessing your goregous son giving you such a stunning gift. "Thank you, Daiki! I love you." you pulled him for another peck on his cheek, extremely happy with what you got.
Daiki couldn't help but sigh in relief, reassured by the fact that you liked what he bought for you— he wasn't certain if you would. He returns you a smile of his own, "I'm glad, mom."
You quickly slid your way towards the living room and placed the bouquet gently in a transparent vase filled with stones inside it. A beautiful touch to the mansion.
"But I have to leave the house for something important, your father is upstairs busy with something by the way." you waved a hand at your son for a farewell before taking your exit.
Daiki blinked, suddenly unsure of what to do next. It's been so long since, realizing how time really is too fast because it's like he was just five yesterday.
A noise appeared, footsteps, heavy ones coming from the stairs. He turned his head to look who it was, and it was of course, "Oh, good evening, father."
Daisuke in his fancy, white robe, his hair all messy but somehow it still looked stylish. He smiled at Daiki, looking proud all of the sudden. "Quite fortunate how you look just as good-looking as me."
"There goes your ego again." Daiki rolled his eyes at him, he never changes.
The raven man quickly made his inside the kitchen and called for his son to follow him. "We need to do something, my boy. It's for your mom. Come here."
"We're..." Daiki paused. "...baking?"
"Yes, a vanilla cake just for your mother. It's gonna be homemade because it's more memorable that way, don't you think?"
Daisuke grabbed all the materials and cooking tools he thinks they would need in order to make this work. "I already baked the cake in the oven actually, so all we need to do now is decorate it."
Daiki just stared at the cake. "That's burnt."
His father had his eyes widened, though still smiling. A what-the-fuck look plastered on his face. "You..." he blinked several times at his son. "...you're serious?"
After a few seconds, Daiki just bursted out in laughter and said, "No, it's not."
"That's disrespectf-"
"It's undercooked. I'll put it back in the oven for another ten minutes."
Daisuke had his jaw dropped the entire time. "But that's too long! Your mom's going to be back soon."
"That's really not my fault, it's you who doesn't know if a cake is undercooked or not." Daiki snapped back. "Fine, I'll put it for just five minutes. Happy?" he pressed some buttons on the oven, and probably got his own buttons pressed too.
Just in the state of panic, Daisuke lets a dramatic sigh escape his lips— and facepalmed. "And I thought baking was easy."
"Well, to be fair, you don't need to learn how to cook since all you have to do is tell your servants to do it for you."
"That's..." Daisuke's eyebrows rose. "That's true."
Daiki quickly puts on a cute apron with a bear designs on it. "I'll prepare the piping bag. Should the color of the frost be white or?"
"What do you think is the color of vanilla, huh?" Daisuke says with sass.
"Your mom." Daiki scowled. "There's a thing called Food Coloring, sir."
Though just ended up choosing white and red, he finished making the piping bags and quickly took the 3 layered cake out of the oven and placed it on the table to get started.
"I'm doing this because it's Valentines Day, right?" Daiki questions.
"What do you mean 'I'm', we are doing this for your mom."
"You're literally just standing there, anyone can do that for Valentines Day."
Daisuke got pissed, he immediately walked towards a cabinet and opened it but as soon as he did, flour came flying on his face and across the kitchen as if it was snow in winter.
"Dad..."
The main door of the mansion opened, cackling heels were heard and it was you who finally finished doing some crucial work in a building. Inhaling, exhaling, you take a moment to catch your breath.
Your ears tingles, you could hear something happening inside the kitchen near and you couldn't help but check to see what was going on.
Opening the door, and as soon as you heard the voices, you say, "My two Dais, how are you two?-"
The kitchen was completely covered in flour and it was just overall a mega disaster. You froze like a statue at the sight, you glance at the two fine men across the room.
Daiki quickly raised both of his hands up for a surrender. "Mom, I swear it wasn't me. It was that gorilla over there." he points at his dad.
"N-No! You got it all wrong, amorcito. It was an acciden-"
You helplessly burst into great laughter, it's a miracle to see a scenery like this one. You even wiped a tear off your eyes after all the laughing. "Oh, man, you both look so stupid with all that flour on your faces."
Daiki just glanced at his father and raised both of his shoulders for an I-don't-know-what's-happening look.
You quickly pulled the two messy men towards you with a blooming smile, you kissed your lover on the lips and peck the cheek of Daiki, all of the flour on them getting all over you. "But that's why I love you guys."
