-The first time Peter Parker took dance lessons, he was fairly sure he would regret it

-It wasn't his first choice of after-work activities, but there was a coupon for a free class in the newspaper rolled up at his doorstep, and Peter would never pass up a chance to save money if it was available

-Besides, why not?

-It's not like he has anything else to do except stare at his ceiling, and he won't start Spider-Man patrols until later in the night

-So, he shows up at the studio, already starting to overthink everything

-Before Peter can talk himself out, the instructor smiles at him from where she stands, talking to the receptionist

-He knows then and there that he won't be able to leave, because he's just seen the prettiest girl in the world and she's about to teach him how to dance

-It takes about three classes for Peter to realize that he's completely smitten, and four after hours phone calls for him to get up the nerve to ask Y/N L/N out on a date

-Ever since that, though, they're doing just fine

-Perfect partners, perfect friends, perfect relationship

-Peter hasn't felt this heady over love in what feels like forever, and he doesn't want it to ever go away

-All the same, though, it's kind of hard to live in New York on the combined salaries of a Daily Bugle photographer and a dance teacher

-So, when Peter sees an ad for a dance contest with a cash prize, he knows they have to do it

-Y/N suggests the 'Time of My Life' dance from Dirty Dancing, which sounds like the best idea ever

-Although Peter's not used to nerves, because he's never felt anything more right than dancing with Y/N, he's still got butterflies swarming his stomach when it comes time to perform in the contest

-Everything goes well, though, even that tricky lift at the end

-And, when their names are called to win the whole contest, Peter feels as if he could nail it a thousand times over

-Maybe that's just what it's like to be with Y/N, though- happy, lucky, undeserving of everything but better than he's ever been :))
