Thank you so much for reading The Jewel of Zecaj! This is my second time participating in ONC, but TJZ is the very first novella I've finished for the contest, which I'm very proud of. It's been a while since I've finished a book and in a short amount of time. Before this, it took me more than a year to finish Rise of the New Olympians (and even that was a cringe excuse for a book). With my busy life schedule, I never thought I could write 30k words in almost two months for the life of me, but I guess the deadline really helped give the right push that I needed.

Does this mean it's the end of Badriya's and Ayaz's story?

Sadly, yes (or is it? *wink wink*), but it's definitely not the end of their world's story! There's a lot of potential for Salym—it's the first fantasy world I've ever made, so I might as well use it!

I'm planning on writing four more novellas that take place in the rest of Salym (see World Map for more details :D). I may or may not write these during ONC season, but one sure thing is that they are going to be standalone books but might hint on some things that happened during the events of TJZ (and the other volumes). Don't worry, it's nothing too major that would make peeps obligated to read the first book (please read TJZ tho hehe).

As I have mentioned early on in this book, TJZ is a first draft, and I'd like to take the opportunity to ask you guys for feedback about the book overall

As I have mentioned early on in this book, TJZ is a first draft, and I'd like to take the opportunity to ask you guys for feedback about the book overall. It may be as long as you wish, but I'd like it very much if you could give me some specific advice or suggestion on:

The plot. Was it unique or cliché? Did you find it interesting enough for you to be hooked?

The characters. Did you feel like they were based heavily on tropes? Were they 3-dimensional, or at least realistic?

The prose. Do the words flow smoothly when you read it? Which parts did I lack on descriptions or other details?

If you have things to say other than these two points (as long as they are constructive), please feel free to drop them here! I would love to interact with readers and learn from my mistakes writing-wise.

Again, thank you all for taking the time to read my humble work, and see you for the next one soon!

All the best,
