so,i have gotten an idea about ryker and viggo past, and maybe an explanation for why they act the way they are
for starters, viggo is very smart, while ryker isnt as smart as viggo, not even close
but he is really good at capturing dragons, that is a skill,a dragon hunter skill
here is where the theory begins
i believe there father neglected them
while there mother was the one who cared about them
but she got sick and sadly passed away due to not getting the medicine she needed
there father got into a deep depression and drank all day
he didnt education ryker or viggo
viggo decided to educate himself
but ryker focused on getting stronger to protect himself and viggo since in his eyes, viggo was weak
viggo focused on his intelligence and taking care of his grandfather
his grandfather took care of them since there own father was to drunk to even talk properly
but sadly, there grandfather also passed away
and there father died from organ failure
ryker and viggo were still young, ryker was a young adult and viggo was almost a teenager
ryker took control of the tribe, but everything was so hard for him
viggo helped ryker and when viggo became an adult,he became chief
due to viggo having to raised himself since ryker was an idiot,he didnt focus on other things
like showing emotions
to him,he saw emotions as things to bring you down
when he had his faced scarred,he realized what he did to himself
he decided to sacrifice himself so hiccup can have a happy life and have his own family
he didnt reveal himself since he didnt want to cause any trouble to hiccup
he was able to feel free without having to do anything or hide many of his emotions due to him being a hunter chief
he sometimes helps dragons
