After making sure the area was clear, the three of you tiptoed to the car to prevent unwanted attention from any zombies nearby. Jin said that the zombies relied on hearing and that their speed was exceptionally slow, so as long as you traveled by car, there shouldn't be much problem running from them.

For the moment.

Both men ignored your existence once they got into the car. Not that it affected you anyway, you needed to think of a plan. A plan to return to your world.

For now, your aim was safety. You didn't want to die here and not make it back home after all, and by surviving, you needed someone to rely on.

Both men in front of you were out of your list. Although Jin was nice to you, who knows what his true intentions were? He seemed like a stranger to you, and relying on a stranger wouldn't guarantee your life safety. The other man was definitely not reliable. Based on how he treated you made you certain that he didn't want to have anything to do with you, and you weren't so thick-skinned to go pester someone that clearly dislikes your entire existence.

Guess I have to find someone else, then.

You watched as the car slowly drove into a square-shaped building, almost built like a warehouse. Numeral cars were also parked in a large hall that took up the whole floor of the building.

"I'll bring you to Yuri for a simple check-up, then you can go register yourself, and take a room to stay at for the time being." Jin gave you a warm smile, to which you mirrored one and nodded.

Jin walked up a flight of stairs and to what seemed like a hospital full of patients. Suddenly, a girl around your age walked up to Jin, her voice gentle and melodic.

"Ah, I finally found you. We've already renewed the facilities in the hospital, and the patients can be transferred there soon. I just need your approval."

While Jin was busy signing the documents, you couldn't help but gawk over the girl's sweet features. With her ash brown hair plaited loosely framing her perfect face shape, and wearing a white cloak, she reminded you of an angel.

"So Y/N, this is Bae Yuri, and Yuri, this is Y/N. We met Y/N while searching for resources, and she'll stay with us for now. She just needs to have a simple check-up to prevent bringing in any viruses."

Yuri gave you a polite nod and signaled you to follow her. Throughout the whole process, your liking towards Yuri only increased by her friendliness. She didn't seem to dislike you and could be your first friend in this world now, which equals she could be the certain someone you found to rely on.

"So, how long has this..." you glanced around the area curiously, "Base been around for?"

"Perhaps a month after the zombie invasion, which should be about a year now. Jin's family was one of the few humans to know about the zombies before the situation got serious, thus this base was prepared a long time ago. We were the ones taken in by him, so he's sort of a leader around here." Yuri's eyes glowed in admiration and her cheeks visibly reddened at the mention of the male, to which you only gave a knowing smile in response.

Seems like someone has a little crush here.

"Since it has already been a year already, shouldn't there be some cure being made in progress?"

Yuri's brows only furrowed at your question. "This isn't like some random zombie movies, Y/N. Haven't you heard? The zombies are controlled by a man and woman, and it is rumored that they were the products of the same lab that started the zombie virus, thus the powers."

Gosh, this is so complicated. Why can't they just create a cure and get this over with?

You gave out a loud sigh and sat down on one of the chairs, pretending to be frustrated about the topic.

"Since they have the ability to control the zombies, do they have superpowers? I mean, the ability to do other things that normal people can't."

The girl gave a shrug, "No one knows. A lot of people have tried meeting them, but end up being killed by the zombies outside their building. Why do you ask?"

"Um, nothing, just for general knowledge." Duh, for finding a way back to my world.

You got assigned to a room and started going through the long hallway, finding a certain number code carved on the door. While passing by the row of closed doors, you noticed a door that was slightly ajar, and loud music could be heard from the inside. You slowly tiptoed to the door to get a peek of the room.

A man not much older than you was dancing to the music, his back towards you. You had no experience in dancing whatsoever, but his swift yet powerful moves were enough to scream that he was an excellent dancer. Your eyes followed as his body glided across the room without much effort, and as the tempo and music raised, so did his movements. Without much warning, his body suddenly turned towards you, and the both of you froze when you made eye contact.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to invade your privacy like this, but your door wasn't closed, so..." You bowed deeply and prepared to leave the room.

"Wait!" The music had already stopped, and the only sound in the room was his slight panting from the activity earlier. You lowered your head and braced yourself for a possible scolding, or even threats, but what he said was the complete opposite.

"What do you think of my dance?"

"Huh?" A nervous smile on his sharp features made him the contrary to his previous state, surrounded with confidence. You were in a daze, why did he want to ask for your opinion?

The man seemed to notice your confusion and gave out a small laugh. "Oh, it's just that... no one has really watched me dance before, except for my family. You're the first, so I just wanna hear your thoughts. Was that... okay?"

It took you a few seconds to find your voice, but in the end, you gave him a proud grin, though you didn't know why you did that since it was all his effort that perfected his dance.

"Okay? Okay?! Man, I don't know who you are, but that was-" you gestured a kiss, "perfection! Even though I didn't watch your whole performance, I was very much entertained, thank you very much!" Without much thinking, you blurted out your honest opinions without any concealment, to which your future self a few seconds later immensely regretted. What if he got angry at your aggressiveness?

He gave you another small, insecure smile at your statement. "You really think so?"

Seeing that he was so unsure of himself and his potential, you couldn't help but nod with much exaggeration, determined to let him know how good his dance was, and decided to add, "Trust me, you're the best dancer I've ever seen, and if anyone else says otherwise, I will punch them in the face."

His eyes widened at your threat, but his lips stretched wide in amusement. "What? No!"

"Watch me." you challenged stubbornly as you folded your arms with arrogance.

The man's smile transitioned into a chuckle, and the two of you laughed in unison.

"You're really kind..." Noticing that both of you haven't properly introduced yourselves, he straightened up and held out his hand.

"Nice meeting you, my name is Jung Hoseok."
