After fighting off previous CEOs and lawyers, Lorraine can finally make her birthday wish come true. In Levi's office, Lorraine goes over the final details before signing the documents.
LORRAINE: So, all we need is your signature, and then the mall will be named after dad.
LEVI: You don't need anything else from me?
LORRAINE: Nope. Just your signature.
Levi looks over the paperwork, skimming and making sure everything is in order.
LEVI: Okay, I can ask Valerie to make a copy and-
Levi stops and reminds himself Valerie isn't there.
LORRAINE: You still miss her?
LEVI: Like crazy.
He faintly smiles.
LORRAINE: She'll come around.
LEVI: I know. I just haven't seen her in a few days.
LORRAINE: Oh, honey.
Lorraine stands up and hugs Levi when a knock on the door interrupts her. May Cortez makes her way inside the office and walks towards them.
MAY: Good morning, Levi.
Lorraine glares at May as May approaches her.
MAY: Oh, hello. I'm May Cortez. I don't believe we've met.
Lorraine takes a step towards her
LORRAINE: Lorraine Wells, Levi's mother.
May extends her hands to shake Lorraine's but Lorraine steps back.
LEVI: What can we do for you, Ms. Cortez?
May walks around the desk, closer to Levi.
MAY: A little birdy told me that you, Levi, have an intolerance for alcohol.
Levi's eyes widened in shock.
LEVI: Who told you that?
From the corner of his eye, he sees Zoey making her way into the office.
ZOEY: Hello everyone!
She proudly smiles.
LEVI: Zoey? What are you doing here?
MAY: Oh, she's the birdy.
LEVI: How did you know about that?
ZOEY: Well, just like you, I can keep a secret too.
Levi takes a step back.
LORRAINE: Why are you both here?
MAY: I tried making Valerie a proposal, but she refused. I'm here to ask you to get her to accept. As for Zoey, I don't know; she brought herself along.
Levi and Lorraine glance at Zoey.
LEVI: What proposal?
MAY: There's a bar across the street. Why don't we talk about it there?
LORRAINE: I don't think so.
MAY: I was talking to Levi.
LEVI: I don't think it's a good idea.
MAY: It'll be in your best interest if you do.
Levi doesn't answer.
MAY: Well, I'll be at that bar if you're interested.
May smiles at Lorraine before walking out. Zoey follows behind her.
LORRAINE: What is she talking about?
