15 minutes later Kayla pulled into the Mystic Falls High School Student Parking lot. As she got out the car her phone started ringing.
"Hey Care"
Care or Caroline Forbes was Kayla's best friend. The two did everything together, told each other everything. If you asked anyone, they'd tell you the two girls were two sides of the same coin.
"Kayla! Are you here yet?"
"Just got out of my car. Im walking into the school now"
"Perfect. I want to go check on Elena before class starts. You know, see how's she's doing"

Kayla smiled at the guy who held the door open for her and spoke to Caroline "Care, Im sure so many people have asked her that today alone"

"I know but I worry. I genuinely want to know"
Kayla shrugged and said "im behind you" having seen the back of her blonde best friend

Caroline turned around with a grin and hung up the phone "Kayla!!"
The two girls hugged, Caroline squeezing like her life depended on it
"Too tight Care" Kayla wheezed out
"Sorry I just missed you" Caroline pouted as she let go

Kayla chuckled "We literally saw each other yesterday"
"Yes but we didn't have our nightly skype" Caroline reminded as she looped arms with the Salvatore.
"Oh of course"
"Of course"

The two girls strutted down the hall searching for Elena giggling.
"Oh there she is! Elena. Oh my god."
Caroline pulled the Gilbert into a hug after she and Kayla let go of each other's arms

"Hey Clyde" Kayla greets the Bennett with a side hug causing the shorter girl to shake her head at the nickname and return the hug as the two girls look at their friends

"How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?" Caroline spoke to Elena then letting go of the hug turning to Bonnie asking the same question

The Gilbert glanced at the two other girls before leaning into the blondes view "Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you."
"Really?"

Elena nodded "Yes. Much better"
"Oh, you poor thing" Caroline went to Hug Elena again as Kayla snorted at Elena's face
"Okay, Caroline"
"Oh! Okay, we'll see you guys later?"
"OK! Bye!" Bonnie grinned, smiling hard as she spoke threw her teeth causing Kayla to nudge her and roll her eyes

"We'll catch y'all later" Kayla waved bye to the two girls before linking her arm with Caroline again as the two walked off

"I need to make a pit stop at Art room to speak with Ms. Alexis" Kayla notified her friend as she turnt a corner
"I'm gonna run to my car, I forgot some forms to give to Coach T" Caroline nodded as the two separated

As Kayla walked down the hall she came across Jeremy who seemed to be coming from the back of the school
"Hey Jer"
"Sup Kayla"

The two looked at each other silently before they laughed
"This is not going to be awkward right?" Jeremy questioned causing the older girl by 3 months to snort

"No, we both know your too far up Vickies ass to let this get awkward"

The gilbert boy rolled his eyes "You got jokes huh??"
"Always" Kayla winked as she started pass the sophomore to go into the art room when he grabbed her arm
"Don't start none won't be none Gilbert"

"I'm not trying to start nothing Kay. I had a question but you seem so busy I'll catch up with you later" Jeremy dragged his hand for her forearm to her wrist and hand then completely letting go as he backway before continuing down the hall

The brown skin girl scrunched her nose up and mumbled to herself "I might just start slapping fools in the face for a living if that boy keep playing with me like that"

"Ms. Alexis?" Kayla knocked on the door hearing a faint "Come in" as she entered

"Kayla! Hello! How was your summer?" Ms. Alexis greeted as she came out from the back room with a small container of supplies
"It was good. How was yours?"
"Ohh just magnificent. I got a new fish"

Ms. Alexis was an elderly art teacher who had been working at mystic falls High for as long as Most Could remember. She was a great teacher. That much was evident in the way she treated and was treated by her students.

"I'm so glad you came. I have an old student who has an open space for a collection in his new gallery. Nothing too extravagant but when I heard I just had to suggested one of my most passionate artists" Ms. Alexis grinned with excitement

Kayla reached for the nearest table leaning on it "Your kidding?"
"Not at all dear"
"OMG Ms. Alexis! That would be so cool! OMG I have to call Zack and I have to decide what pieces to give and-"

Ms. Alexis walked over to Kayla and grabbed her hands "Miss Salvatore. You have time. His gallery doesn't open until February"

"The gallery opens in February? He's getting my blackest art pieces" Kayla decided

The elderly teacher shook her head with a laugh as she walked over to her desk getting ready to prepare for her first class "You are a true hoot just like your mother. Oh how she'd be so proud"

Kayla smiled "Thank you Ms. Alexis"
"No need to thank me my dear. I love your art and I would love to see it shared with the world outside of a high school gallery. Now run along I know your class is on the other side of school and I won't be writing you any made up excuses this semester"

Kayla grinned cheekily as she skipped out of the class with her sandal heels clicking to her heel of her feet as went to her locker in attempt to meet up with her favorite blonde
