Later that afternoon Tyler dropped Kayla off at home. The girl entered the boarding house silent as she thought back to her conversation earlier with Caroline and Bonnie. Walking towards the kitchen to drop her take out in the fridge, she noticed the door that lead to the cellar open.

Never having seen this door open or been down it's stairs because Kayla peaked in hearing voices

"You've been growing it"
Kayla paused back hearing Stefan's voice wondering what they were talking about

"It's just something that's been passed down through the generations. I put some in everything Kayla so much as touches. Blood only runs so deep when you're related to vampires. Damon would kill me if he knew that I had it"

Kayla's eyes widen slightly 'What the hell? Vampires?'

"But you're telling me? Why?"
"Because I trust you...and you're gonna need it if you want to get rid of him"

Not wanting to get caught Kayla slowly moves away from the door and makes her way to the stairs when a floor board creaks

Worrying they might've heard it, she turns around and starts walking back towards the kitchen knowing she wouldn't make it to the stairs before they came up and figured out she was listening in

Stefan and Zach come up the stairs almost bumping into the girl who came around the corner
"Kayla...hey, you just got here"

"Mhmm, Tyler dropped me off after lunch with his parents..." Kayla says as she pushes her sun glasses up her nose to avoid making eye contact with either of the men. Kayla wasn't the worse liar but Zach could always tell

Nodding the father figure walked over to his daughter with a smile and pulled her into a hug "Hey, i'm sorry I haven't seen you in the past few days"

Kayla gives a half smile "It's fine, I know you've been busy with whatever it is you do. We can plan something for this week"
"I'll keep my schedule clear for you"

Nodding Kayla moves the take out bag and offers it to him "You can have this, I probably won't eat anything else before the founders party. It's chicken tenders"
"Thanks" Zach smiles and walks off to the kitchen making eye contact with Stefan who stood silent watching the two

"You okay Kayla?" The green eyed Salvatore questioned
Nodding the girl placed her hand on her forehead "Yea, just thinking about something Caroline said about an ex of Damon's"

Frowning his eyes Stefan tilted his head "What ex?"
"Kathy or something, it's no big deal. Im gonna head upstairs to get ready, I'll see you later"

Kayla turns around and makes her way steadily up the stairs to her room. Once she gets inside she shuts the door and goes to the bathroom starting her shower and putting music on and sealing her hair up into a bonnet to keep it from getting wet

The whole time Kayla was showering, a million thoughts were running through her head

'Maybe that was a metaphor'
'Vampires aren't real'
'Bonnie's grams definitely been tryna convince her she's a witch so maybe?'
'What has Zach been putting in everything I touch?'
'Where the freak is my body scrub?"
'I should learn how to braid this year, Bonnie's no help'
'Damn im supposed to get in a car with this dude knowing he might be a vampire'
'He hasn't done any freak shit...other than sleep with Caroline that one time'
'I should book a hair appointment with that girl in Atlanta'
'Maybe I should get locs?'
'I need to learn how to do lashes and nails and start business or something'
'Tyler's parents were so weird today? They're usually all interested but dang excessive much'
'Maybe I should've ate the rest of those tenders'
'I knew something weird was goin on...maybe Stefan- OMG Kathy is Katherine! They dated the same bitch. Maybe I was reading too much into this, they probably just mad they was hitting the same chick'

After Kayla got out the shower and started to get dressed she found her mind more quiet as she listened to 'Cupids Chokehold/Breakfast in America'

As Kayla applied minimal highlight to her eye crease, someone knocked on her door
"Come in"

"Where the stupid tie"

Kayla grinned and made eye contact through the mirror with Damon before pointing behind her to the bag on her bed
"You'll look so spiffy in your buttercup tie"
"Mhmm"

"Before you leave, grab that film camera from the top shelf of my bookcase please and thanks" Kayla mumbled as she applied her lip liner and gloss
"What for?"
"I'm making a look book for my future kids, they need to know their mother was a bad bitch and fashionista"
"Right..I'll meet you down stairs"
Damon shook his head with a laugh and left the room, green tie in hand

15 minutes later Kayla came down the steps and stopped by the door to see Zach, Stefan and Damon on opposite sides of the room

Zach turned to the stairs and smiled pulling out his camera "You look beautiful sweetie"
"Thank you" Kayla smiled as she stopped at the bottom of the stairs with a pose

Zach clicked the camera a few times as Kayla switched poses

"Now one of us, Stefan take the camera"

Damon leaned again the back of the couch watching amused as Stefan caught the camer Kayla tossed

Kayla and Zach smiled into the camera as the father wrapped his arms around his daughter

After a few clicks, Kayla motioned for Stefan and Damon to take a picture with her
"No thanks"
"I think i should go get Elena-"

"Being yo ass on"
"Language"
"Yea okay old man, grab the camera please"

Damon and Stefan made their way over to the girl and stood on opposite sides of her as she got into position "Alright Charlie's angels pose"

Rolling his eyes, Damon got into position as Stefan stood looking at the two with a raised eyebrow
"Come on Fabio, we don't have all day"

Hearing the nickname Kayla snorted "Not Fabio"

Sighing Stefan turned around and posed looking into the camera as Zach bit back a laugh "Say cheese"

Stefan narrowed his eyes, smile still forced on his face
"Take the picture"
