If someday the moon calls you
by your name, don't be
surprised, because every night
I tell her about you.

"THERE'S A SPARE chair over there you know?"

Kate puckered her lips in doubt, turning back around from her uncomfortably twisty place at Matt's booth. She'd been doing that often in the past half hour, twisting her whole profile to look over at Caroline's table. It wasn't so much of it being Caroline's table as to who it seated. A very please-I-only-came-here-for-the-fries Bonnie Bennett, Kate's frantic-eyed twin sister, extra inquisitive Caroline and one new guy with an archaic sibilant name and mousey hair.

Matt was indeed right though, there was a fifth chair at the table, right beside Caroline who guarded it with a possessive purse mounted on it.

But Kate couldn't bring herself to sit there despite the pleading nods Bonnie sneaked her way every five minutes.

"Care's interrogating him, Mattie." Kate shrugged, as if it was answer enough.

Matt bounced two seats around the table to sit beside her, his back now to the infamous table in talk. He draped his arm over her shoulder, tipping the basket half-full of curly fries towards her. Kate sighed, giving in. When curly fries were involved, who needed Italian men or snobby sisters?
