AT THE TENDER AGE OF SEVEN, Kate became a mother. Princess Bow-Bow was a cat Elena had found hurt in a puddle (a tuft of hair out of place was mistaken for a scratch). Everyone had admired the kindness of the little girl but what no one had acknowledged was that the poor little cat was actually a devil in lazy disguise. He had puked hairballs in Kate's new shoes and scratched her hair out. But Kate didn't say anything ; she tried her hardest to make nice with the creature she had to take care of ( Elena just rescued the butterscotch beast, she couldn't possibly want to be any more responsible!) but it just didn't happen.
