When you are alone, they are not there.
Distance strengthens nothing.
When you need them by your side, to comfort you in times of distress, they are not there.
Distance strengthens nothing.
When your birthday rolls around, they are not there.
Distance strengthens nothing.
When the sadness comes creeping in, they are not there.
Distance strengthens nothing.
When you are about to break down, and they ask how you are, you will say you are fine. But they are not there.
Distance strengthens nothing.
When they finally realize that your happiness is fake, it's too late. You're too far gone. The darkness has broken you, and you're barely hanging on. They are not there.
