The day speeds by, all events fast-forwarding despite everything you try to do to slow them down. Soon, too soon, the time has slipped away and the school day is ending. You're in your last ten minutes of homeroom, ten minutes before you have to choose. You're probably overthinking it, you tell yourself, but that doesn't do anything to slow your ever-racing heart.
Briiiiing!!
The school bell snaps you from your anxiety spiral for half a second. Wyatt and Wimer stand up in the same motion, and you glance at them oddly as you exit the room. Your heart thuds in your chest as you take a left turn down the hallway, towards both the gym and the football field. It takes you a moment to realize that Wyatt is right next to you. He turns his head to look at you.
"You going to cheer or football?" he says in a somewhat casual manner. It seems he's actually trying to make an effort to be mildly tolerable. Imagine that. You want to give him a chance though, so you reply...
