A day passed by, and Cha-young was tidying up their apartment as she would be in a plane in about five hours. She looked at her phone that was ringing on the kitchen's counter. She picked it up and brought it to her ear
"He didn't make it"
Maria spoke, and silence crept up onto them line
"And?"
Cha-young simply replied, not even having an ounce of sympathy towards the dead director
"The police concluded it as an attempt of assassination. And thankfully, you're not on the suspect list. Turns out, Director has gotten himself a lot of enemies in his past. They decided to close the investigation... Did you do something, Cha-young?"
She asked, wondering why the police would close the investigation with no suspect getting apprehended. Usually, cases like this would be investigated really thoroughly
"I paid them"
She answered, shrugging her shoulders
"I told them that I'll pay a million dollars if they stop the investigation. The money was wired to them this morning"
Maria gasped
"A million dollar? Girl, give me some"
She snickered
"Just tell me how much you want. You played a big part on the plan too. It wouldn't be possible without you"
"Thanks. Anyway, when is your flight?"
Cha-young glanced at the clock and spoke
"In five hours"
"Do you need any help?"
"It's fine. I can do this alone. I need to go. There are still a lot of things that I need to do. I didn't even pack my bags yet. I'll call you later"
She ended the call, putting the device on the previous spot as she walked to her bedroom. But soon stopped when she walked past Chang-min's bedroom. She froze, slowly turning her head to the side with a heavy heart
