04: The Other Fugitive

Nayeon's pov

Sana had been with us for a couple of months now and she spent the whole day with me. Tzuyu, on the other hand, was busy organizing my move to Japan.

Sana and I were talking in the living room while we ate sushi, a typical Japanese dish. Tzuyu came and sat down.

"End of the month. At the port. Kyungwan found another girl" she said in alarm.

"Another one? We have to get ready" Sana said suddenly becoming serious.

"How do you know she found another? Did you hear from him? How is he?" I asked, hoping to have news.

"Calm down, Ning. I haven't heard from him. He only managed to communicate this to me. Do you know that the calls over there are being intercepted?" Tzuyu told me.

I nodded weakly. At least I knew Kyungwan was still alive. This was enough for me.

"Kyungwan only collects girls, huh?" Sana asked with a grin.

"It's simpler. When they try to escape, the guards decide to rape the girls before killing them. That's how Kyungwan saved me" I explained.

"Did he rape you?" Sana asked confusedly.

"No!" I yelled embarrassed.

"The guards wanted to do it. He said it was up to him. He took me to a distant place and told me how to escape" I explained, hoping Sana finally understood.

"Oh. I didn't know exactly how he saved lives" Sana explained to me.

"Girls, I'm going to call Momo. If we're lucky, we can get both Ning and the new girl to Japan" Tzuyu said and then went to her room.

"I'm going to help her. Momo is a bit stupid. Sometimes she doesn't remember Korean, sometimes she doesn't remember Japanese..." Sana explained to me, getting up.

I was curious about this Momo, another member of this team of heroes.

I went to my room and took a sheet of paper.

"Kyungwan, I'm glad you're okay"

I smiled remembering what little I had seen of the sergeant.

"I wonder if you've ever fallen in love. Have you ever fallen in love with a girl you saved? It's stupid but I happened to fall in love with a guy who saved me. He was the first kind person to me in twenty-six years of my life. I wonder if every now and then you think of me. Or maybe you think about some other girl you saved? The girl who will come at the end of the month, for example. Who knows if she is prettier than me and you are in love with her."

Time skip

The end of the month arrived and Tzuyu headed to the port to pick up the new girl. I was quite excited to get to know someone like me.

LLet's hope we can save more lives" Sana said as we waited on the sofa.

Tzuyu had been out for hours now. What was happening?

"Sana, hasn't she been gone too long?" I asked worriedly.

"Maybe she got caught and she's looking for a diversion" Sana told me trying to stay calm.

We waited a little longer and finally heard the sound of the keys in the door. Sana and I stood up smiling and looked towards the door. Tzuyu made her entrance but there was no one behind her.

"She didn't make it" she said with her head down.

I began to cry thinking about everything that I had had to undergo and that, therefore, the girl had also undergone. Sana hugged me trying to console me. It was useless. Another life wasted because of that prison.

"They are horrible people" I said continuing to cry.

"Ning, unfortunately we should have expected it. It's hard to escape and not get caught. You know it better than anyone else" Tzuyu, who seemed to be as destroyed as I was, told me

"This wouldn't have happened if those monsters... How can a human kill another human?" I asked looking for an explanation from Tzuyu.

"That's why we intervene. Unfortunately, more than telling them how to escape, we can't be of much help" Sana explained to me.

"Why am I still alive? Why me and not her?" I asked now destroyed.

"Ning, you had better luck. Maybe you were even more agile" Sana told me, stroking my hair.

"I promise we will do our best to save more lives" Tzuyu said seriously, looking into my eyes.

Sana wiped my tears away.

"Kyungwan would not want to see you cry" the Japanese told me smiling sweetly.

"None of us want to see you cry" Tzuyu added.

"Shall we go to your room?" Sana asked, making me get up.

"Kanojo to... Mh... ichaicha shite mh... Imasu ka?" Tzuyu asked in Japanese and sounded quite serious.
("Are you hitting on her?" Literally: "Are you flirting with her?")

"Watashi wa tada kanojo or nagusamete iru" Sana said rather annoyed, looking into her eyes.
("I'm just comforting her")

"Anata wa watashi yori mo ehm... Hokanoshito no koto or motto kangaemasu!" Tzuyu said raising the tone of her voice.
("You think more of the others than of me")

I couldn't understand what was going on.

"What do you think? That I didn't see you with Dahyun?" Tzuyu asked finally speaking Chinese.

"I have kept it hidden so far only because kanojo ga imashita"
("There was her". Ps. By "her" she means Nayeon)

"But I already knew that. Seriously Sana!? With Momo's girlfriend? Your best friend?" Tzuyu yelled.

Okay, the situation is getting complicated. It seems that Sana has cheated on Tzuyu.
