Nayeon's pov

Sana and Tzuyu hadn't spoken to each other for a week now and they were both very cold and grumpy. Tzuyu told me that Momo would arrive later this month, so in four days.

I was in the living room watching television with Sana, while Tzuyu talked on the phone. They were talking about the North Korean girl who tried to escape by boarding a fishing boat. She had been discovered and condemned. She was probably the one Kyungwan saved.

"I wonder who Tzu is talking to. She's always so secretive" I said curiously.

"Believe me, she's always like that, even when she talks to her mother. She looks like she's hiding a state secret. I've seriously started thinking she's part of the FBI or something"

We concentrated on television, when Sana suddenly switched to a whole other subject.

"In Japan you will also meet Mina" Sana told me.

"Mina?"

"She is another Japanese friend of mine. She is taken by a Korean girl, Chaeyoung"

"Are you all taken by girls here?" I asked confused.

"Yes" she said nodding.

"Even though I'm single now" she said, lowering her head.

"Sana, don't get down on yourself. We all make mistakes. Now that you have the chance to have the one you love next to you, don't waste it. You should be forgiven" I told her honestly.

"But how? Momo's girlfriend and I kissed. It's serious"

"First you have to figure out if you love Momo's girlfriend or Tzuyu more"

"Dahyun is nice and kind but I don't love her. I want to be with Tzuyu" she explained to me torturing her hands.

"Then tell her" I told her simply.

Maybe it's because I come from a country without love and without too many complications in this field but for me the solution was quite simple and obvious.

"Thanks, unnie"

It was still weird to be called Unnie but that was how South Koreans addressed girls older than themselves.

Sana got up and I saw her walking towards Tzuyu's room. I was hoping it would go well. I went back to my room and looked out the window.

"Hi Sergeant Kim. How are you over there? Sana and Tzuyu are still in a bad situation but now Sana has gone to talk to her. You say they will get back together? I think so. Love always triumphs, right? Except where I lived. We weren't allowed to love there. Have you found someone yet? Probably difficult. You look after the nets every day and you don't have time to love. Don't worry, I'll love for you. I'll love twice as much as you can love. I'm waiting for you."

I put the letter in the drawer with the others I had written for the past eight months and continued to stare at the river in silence until dinner. Sana entered without even knocking. I turned to her and saw that she was calmer.

"You always look at that river. What do you find beautiful in it?" she asked as she sat down next to me.

"That river reminds me of a person" I said smiling thinking of Kyungwan.

"How did it go with Tzuyu?" I asked turning to her.

"We didn't get back together but she allowed me to try and win her back" she told me smiling at me.

"What about you? How's it going with the mysterious river man?" she asked me seriously.

"How do you know it's a boy?" I asked surprised.

"No one would stare at a boring river for hours but a person in love" Sana said.

"Who is he? A boy from your country?"

I was silent.

"You once told me it's impossible love. Why?"

"I don't even know if I'll see him again" I said, smiling bitterly.

"Tell me who he is. We could try to save him" Sana told me seriously.

"He's already doing everything to save other lives. I don't think he'll be able to protect his"

"A hero, huh? In your country it's dangerous to try to save others. They could find out and make them pay for it, right?" she asked me sadly.

I nodded while still looking at the river.

"Wait" she said suddenly.

I turned to look at her.

"It reminds me of Kyungwan"

I was panicking. I didn't want Sana to know I was talking about him. What was I supposed to do? I stood silently watching her waiting for her to say something.

"Aren't they allies?" she asked.

Sometimes, I wonder if people who have had the chance to go to school are really that smart. Sana didn't exactly seem to me a genius.

"I don't know. It could be" I shrugged.

"Anyway, dinner is ready" she said as she stood up.

I did the same and we went to the table, where Tzuyu was waiting for us.

"Ning, eat now that you get the chance" Tzuyu told me.

Sana giggled as I looked at them in confusion.

"She refers to Momo. That girl transforms when she sees food" Sana explained to me.

I admit that I was increasingly curious to know this Momo I was hearing about all the time. From the descriptions I was given, she seemed like a very nice person to me. I was also curious to see Japan. In my country I was taught that South Korea, Japan and America are our enemies. By now I know that they are only enemies of the dictator.
