07: Impossible love

Nayeon's pov

We had been on that ship for five days. I didn't think it would take that long.

"Good morning. I see that every time you wake up you look at the sea. Do you like the view so much?" Momo asked.

"Oh yes. Don't you, Momo?" I asked looking at the horizon on the "terrace".

"Are you like a writer? I always see you with a paper in your hand"

"Let's say something like that"

"I'm going to eat"

"But didn't you just go?" I asked convinced of what I had said.

"Yes but there is always time for food" she said and then left me alone.

"Hi Kyungwan, how are you? This is the fifth day on this boat. As I told you in previous letters, Momo is really nice. I didn't think a human could eat that much. In my country we don't have all this food. Sometimes, we also fast for a month. Japanese food is delicious. I hope to be able to eat it with you when you come back. I am waiting for you"

The captain said something but I didn't understand, so I went down to the restaurant to ask Momo for information.

"Nayeon! Come on" Momo told me when she saw me.

I walked over and was about to ask her what the captain had asked but she anticipated me.

"We are about to arrive in Japan. Actually technically we are already there. We have been passing Kagoshima for quite a while. Our destination, however, is Kyoto. We will arrive in Osaka, the hometown of Sana, by ship and then we will reach Kyoto by car. Another friend of ours, the owner of this ship, will come pick us up" Momo informed me.

Too much news but I was happy that we had finally arrived in Japan. I could define myself practically safe.

"You want?" she asked, handing me some yakitori.

"Do you also eat yakitori for breakfast?" I asked confused.

"There is no precise time to eat something specific"

These were some of the pearls that came out of that mouth full of food.

After a few hours, we finally reached the Japanese coast. I was so excited to arrive in Osaka and meet Momo, Sana, Tzuyu and the sergeant's other friend.

"Here she is! She's Mina" Momo said, taking me by the arm.

We drove to a girl in a car. She looked really rich.

"Hi, I'm Myoui Mina" the girl said with a bow.

"Im Nayeon" I said making a bow too.

"Come on? I'm hungry" Momo said as she got into the car.

I did the same too and Mina left for Kyoto or Tokyo, I don't remember.

"So Nayeon, how was the escape?" Mina asked me.

"It was scary. I was trying to escape and some soldiers stopped me. Three of them wanted to rape me when the sergeant came and said he wanted to do it. I was terrified. He was sure to kill me later. But Sergeant Kim told me to run away. I had to get on this ship and try not to be discovered. When I arrived in China, I jumped into the sea but I couldn't swim. I don't know who saved me, I was just very lucky. Tzuyu recognized me and I went to live with her and then I also met Sana"

"Wow. It was a risky adventure" Momo commented.

"What did you expect? We don't even know if Kyungwan will be back safe and sound" Mina said.

Those words made my heart stop. It fell silent. Mina was busy driving, Momo nibbled on something, while I looked out the window.

"I came to Japan and met Mina. Have you been to Japan before? I'm worried because Mina said you might not make it. I already knew that but hearing it repeated breaks my heart. Are you okay, right? Eat and keep fit. I am waiting for you."

"Are you writing a new poem?" Momo asked me, making me turn behind her.

"Oh you write?" Mina asked me.

"Yes" I said shyly.

lWhat are you writing?" Mina asked me again.

"Of an impossible love"

"No love is impossible" Mina told me.

None except the one hindered by my country.

"You must know that even Mina believed her love was impossible" Momo told me, catching my attention.

"A few years ago, Momo, Sana and I went to Korea. I had found a job as a native Japanese teacher and the two of them wanted to come with me. Premise: I was twenty-two. Basically, a little girl lost her head for me. At the end I finally gave in and fell in love with her. That girl was sixteen, however, and so her family intervened and I was thrown out of school and our love ended before it started"

Mina's story is really sad. My story also ended before it even started.

"But" Momo said.

"But Chae, that girl, ran away from home. She hasn't talked to her parents in two years now"

"So we had to take her to Japan"

"As if Dahyun didn't live with us"

Apparently I will know this Chae and the very famous Dahyun. Poor Momo, betrayed by her girlfriend and her best friend. I just hope they both repent and it's just a mistake.
