Marek POV:

Location: Clubhouse

Time: 5:37 PM

Operation Stripe

WM: Please...help me.

Lion: Check him, I will cov-

*BANG*
*BANG*

Lion turned around, aiming his rifle at me as I holstered my 1911. Cerberus started growling but didn't do anything, probably because this misunderstanding has happened before.

Lion: What are you doing!? That was a hostage!

I took a knee and lifted the white masks dead body onto the bar counter. Not even looking at Lion I raised my right hand in the air so Lion could follow it as I slowly lifted up the "hostage's" hands. I pointed my left hand at the zip ties which were partially cut, which would allow him to break free with a swift movement. I grabed both of his hands with my own and yanked them away from eachother, breaking the zip ties and showing my proof to Lion. I then unzipped the white masks jacket showing a suicide vest with a phone counting down from 42. I then pulled the beret from his jacket and broke it down, letting the peices drop to the floor. I grabed the body and tossed it over my shoulder. Lion lowered his rifle as I hurried to the window and threw the body outside. Getting away from the window and back to Lion just in time, the explosives went off breaking apart some of the wall and leaving a bigger dust cloud than expected. I grabed my rifle that was slung around me and patted Lions shoulder. I snapped my fingers and walked past Lion with Cerberus towards the garage and stairs.

Lion: You are fou. (crazy)

Marek POV:

Location: Hereford Base

Time: 6:04 PM

24 hours before Operation Stripe

Pulse: BUT YOU HEARD IT TOO!

Lion: It will make no difference!

Doc: Exactly, there is no point in fighting!

Pulse shoved Lion and Doc off of him.

Pulse: So that's it huh? Ya know, I thought it would be Oliver to be against us but not you Gustave.

Gustave: Excuse me?

Lion looked away in shame, Harry said he's still haunted by what he did to Gustaves friends.

Lion: You have gone too far Jack.

Pulse: YOU WENT TOO FAR THAT DA-!

Pulse was interrupted when Doc socked him in the jaw and we heard a loud crack. Pulse fell to the Medbay floor screaming in pain. Doc left the room without saying anything while Lion helped up Pulse. Lion grabed Pulse's dislocated jaw and snapped it back into place without warning, which got another loud scream out of Pulse. I got up from the hospital bed and walked to the door. Pulse started rubbing his jaw and his breathing became a little better.

Pulse: What a pu-

Lion hooked Pulse in the stomach catching him off guard and allowed him to fall to the floor.

Lion: You deserved it.

I opened the door and left with Lion not too far behind. I walked down the hall and started to slow down when the front desk came into view. Doc was sitting behind it with his head in his hands. I couldn't help but feel like shit, mainly because it was me that caused this. Lion's footsteps grew louder as I kept staring at Doc but I didn't bother to turn around. I'm too busy thinking about how I made Doc, a man who pretty much dedicates his life to caring for his teammates hurt one. Unexpectedly, when Lion stoped just next to me he didn't even look in my direction. I turned my head towards him, curious why he didn't even try to hit me. I mean I know he is not particularly violent but I broke Gustave for fucks sake.

Lion:...Go to Vigil, make your amends. I will deal with Gustave.

I stared at Lion for a good minute, then Lion finally turned his gaze to me.

Lion: I'm sure you had your reasons. Now go.

Not questioning it any further I left the medbay as Lion walked over to Gustave. I started walking to Harry's office because I knew Vigil wouldn't want to talk. Especially when Harry saw it necessary to keep him in his room and strip him of any weaponry. Atleast he wasn't put into one of the cells that we have for white mask prisoners. 2 recruits were stationed outside of his room, armed with sidearms incase things took a turn for the worst. I started passing by the remaining operators, some ignoring me completely and others wishing me a speedy recovery. I assume news of my betrayal spread like wildfire, especially with a big mouth like Pulse's. I turned that familiar corner and walked down the hallway to Harry's office door.

*KNOCK*
*KNOCK*

Harry: Come in!

I opened the door and saw Harry on the phone with someone and typing on his computer. We locked eyes with eachother and Harry turned to his phone laying on his desk.

Harry: I'm gonna have to call you back.

Harry stoped typing on his computer and taped the phone, rudely hanging up. Must have pissed him off, or maybe I'll get a pleasant surprise like Lion.

Harry: Shouldn't you be resting Marek? Gustave said you had just woken up not too long ago.

I sat down in one of the 2 seats infront of Harry's desk and grabed my notepad from my pocket. I took out the pencil that was in the metal bindings and wrote "I'm fine. Vigil?". I handed Harry the notepad and he read it.

Harry: Either way you should still be resting.

Harry handed me back the notepad.

Harry: As for Vigil, he was incredibly worried about you. Although ever since he's gotten the news you've woken up, Vigil has stood quite refusing to talk to anyone.

I wrote "What about everyone else?" and handed Harry back the notepad.

Harry: Most of them I have sent out this morning for the Operation, including Lera.

I internally breathed a sigh of relief. I'd rather not get yelled at by the angry Russian.

Harry: So the Base is pretty vacant as of now.

Harry handed me back my notepad and I nodded to him as a thank you. I stood from my seat and walked to the door.

Harry: Marek?

I stopped and turned around to look at Harry, waiting for the question I didn't want to answer.

Harry: Why didn't you say anything?

I stared at Harry for a good minute then wrote on my notepad. I tossed it at him and he caught it. Harry looked over it then sighed and tossed the notepad back to me.

Harry: Understandable, rest up Marek.

I nodded to him again and I left. Standing outside of the office and in the hallway I look at the notepad, reading the same word over and over in my mind. Scared? Biggest lie I've told to the guy.

*VRR*

I put my notepad in my left pocket and pulled out my phone from the right. Looking at the lock screen I see the notification and the woman who got me into this.

Arnot.
