The Morning After

No POV 

We begin this chapter with Parasoul as she sat in the back of a car, looking out the tinted laminated glass windows, dressed in her usual attire while her umbrella, Krieg, was laying next to her on the seat and an Egret was driving, a divider between the two ends of the car. As she watched the scenery go pass them on their way to New Meridian, she let out a disappointed sigh before talking to herself 

Parasoul: "One night, it was just meant to be one night and he's suddenly on the news for getting into a fight! I knew I should've had Number 13 follow them. I just hope there were no casualties or serious infrastructure damage"

With another sigh, Parasoul then went back to looking through the window to pass the time on their way to New Meridian, listening to the radio

Time Skip

As time passed, we see the car Parasoul was in come to a stop in front of a police station in New Meridian along with three more cars before the Egret that was driving the car stepped out and opened the car door for her, letting her out as she thanked him before looking towards the station 

Parasoul: "Well, let's get this over with...ᶜᵃⁿ'ᵗ ᵇᵉˡⁱᵉᵛᵉ ⁱ'ᵐ ᵐⁱˢˢⁱⁿᵍ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵒⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ⁿᵉˣᵗ ᵉᵖⁱˢᵒᵈᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵃⁿⁿⁱᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵗᵃʳˢ ᵇᵉᶜᵃᵘˢᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰⁱˢ"

The last part was a quiet mumble as she looked to the Egret standing next to her with a raised eyebrow, wondering if they had heard anything but they kept facing the station in a parade stance, their body covered in head to toe from the uniform and preventing anyone from getting an idea of what they looked like underneath

Convinced no one had heard her say the last part, she then started to walk towards the station while several more Egrets left the cars that had followed the original car, two of the Egrets walking inside with Parasoul as we were left our driver for a moment as a chuckle was heard, muffled due to the gas mask 

Inside the police station, we see Parasoul approach the front desk in the main hall, seeing a lady seated behind the desk as she wrote something down until she spotted Parasoul out of the corner of her eye, causing her to look at her properly and then stand up straight and salute the princess 

Receptionist: "Y-Your Majesty!" 

Parasoul: "At ease, how are you this morning ma'am?" 

Receptionist: "I-I'm doing well, thank you ma'am, h-how can I be of assistance this morning?" 

Parasoul: "I'm here to collect Y/n, The Skullboy and his friends" 

Receptionist: "Oh, of course your Majesty! Follow me" 

The Receptionist then got up from her desk and began walking down a hallway, motioning for Parasoul and her Egret guards to follow, which they did as they made their way to the holding cells located downstairs and upon entering the area, they were met with the ending of someone singing 

Y/n: "Hell, for heaven's sake!
In just a moment's time, you'll wonder why
You ever thought you'd ever long for more than you've got
'Cause, baby, you've got you and me"

Once the voice had ended, it was then followed by a small round of applause and when Parasoul rounded the corner, they were met with four police officers sitting at desks in a square formation while there were prison cells that each held our protagonist and his friends

As the applause died down, Parasoul then cleared her throat, getting everyone's attention as the officers all stood up and saluted to the princess before standing at parade rest and the one in charge spoke up
