The party was sort of like the welcoming party you got. It was at your uncle's restaurant as he didn't mind it. No one spoke about your sudden disappearance as Agent Harrison took care of it. You haven't spoken to your parents yet ever since yesterday nor have you spoken to your siblings.
Music was being played and everyone was eating the food and talking. You were seated away from everyone. You felt distant but when you see how everyone is laughing and just enjoying themselves, you couldn't help but smile yourself.
This is the family you want to protect.
These are the smiles you want to protect.
In this room, you felt the warmth and love. It was indescribable and what makes you smile a little brighter yet sad at the same time was that you felt like you weren't needed here. You weren't even talking to anyone nor participating in anything. You weren't even part of the party.
You were just... There.
In a room filled with people, you were just there. Alone...
You feel the phone Tyler gave you in the pocket and though about messaging him. About just leaving with him instead of going along with the plan that Agent Harrison made as you this was better. You weren't needed here... That's how you felt.
"How are you feeling?" The agent snaps you out of your thoughts and you look at Harrison and force a smile.
"I'm okay," you answer and he nods. He then leaves to talk to someone. You stay there and look at your hands. You couldn't help but start peeling. It hurts a little but you don't stop until he bleeds and even then, you continued until you see a band-aid which cause you to raise your head.
"Toru?" You say as you see him with a gentle smile.
"Here, I thought that maybe this would help," he says as he shows you the band-aid.
"Um, thank you," you say as you rase your finger to your mouth to clean the blood. Toru grabs a chair and bring it near you so that he can sit down next to you.
"This may help," he says as he hands you a napkin. You thank him again as you take the napkin to clean your finger and then he hands you the bandaid which you put on your finger. "Is... Is um, everything okay?" He ask which confused you, "I got a call this morning and agents at my door asking me if I saw you or if you're with me," he explains.
"I sort of left my home to go to Eric as I had a little fight with my parents," you start of with a shrug while Toru looks at you, "And then at Eric's house, I had a nightmare, couldn't sleep so I went for a walk and then I really wanted to see the sunrise. I lost track of time and because I didn't tell anyone, there was a panic," you explain without giving too much detail.
"The sunrise?" Toru says, sounding a little surprised.
"Something wrong with that?" You ask and he shakes his head.
"No, it's just, um," Toru doesn't know how to put it, "With your memories, I thought you hated it," he says which confused you.
"What do you mean?" You ask as you didn't understand.
"It's just, you told me you hated the sunrise and sunset because of the memories that came with it," Toru says which surprised you because you never told anyone about it, only Eric as he found out how it made you uncomfortable, he asked and you at some point told him.
"What exactly did I tell you?" You ask, leaning towards him more and needing to know which surprised Toru. You knew Tyler can listen through the phone but Toru is talking to you in Japanese and you're answering in Japanese as well. He can't understand the language from what you know.
