|29| I Trust You

After five hours, the surgeon walks out of the surgery room which caught the whole family's attention. Your mother was the first one to rush to the doctor, "My-My husband?" Your mother stutters anxiously as the whole family look at them.

Your father's siblings, his brother and sister were sitting next to each other, side hugging each other to comfort each other as their partners stay behind to take care of the kids as they didn't want the here.

Your grand-parents, your mother's parents, were in another room with all the kids to distract them. Your aunt and uncles were in the room, trying to calm your mother who was the one who couldn't hold herself together which was a first for you as your mother was alway someone who has control over every situation or knows how to control herself.

And this is the first time you have seen her break down which you can understand but instead of trying to putting herself together to show she's okay just like you have learned while growing up, she stays in a panic, anxious, scared state where she can't calm down nor pretend to be okay as much as she wanted, it's why she sent Jia-Li and Mark away with her parents when they came back from the cafeteria as Toru went to go get you as he noticed you leaving.

Jia-Li and mark didn't want to but once your mother yelled for them to go, they listened as they didn't know what to do. It just seems like they're getting yelled at a lot.

"Your husband's injuring's were very severe," the doctor explains which cause your mother's hand shake and your father's siblings to stand worriedly, "It was a long procedure but I can proudly say that the surgery went well and your husband will be okay," the doctor says cause you to tear up.

Your mother's hands raise to her mouth as she smiles and cries in joy. "Can-Can I see him?" Your mother ask as she needed to see him.

"Yes but I must inform you that right now, he isn't awake. He needs a lot of rest and two weeks at the hospital where we can watch him. He should be awake in a few hours. I'll show you to his room," he says and your mother nods.

Everyone follows the doctors and Toru looks at you, "(Name)?"

"My dad is alive..." you cry as you cover your eyes with your hands. Toru grabs the handle of the wheelchair and push, "No, stop," you say to which he listen. "I can't... I can't go in there... I'm the one that caused him to be in that situation in the first place," you're scared to go see your father.

"He's going to want to see you," Toru reminds you in a positive way and you take a deep breath, "So let's go see your father," Toru says and you take a deep breath to calm yourself down. You wipe your tears and nod.

Toru takes you to where your father is. Once you arrive to the room, you see three of your uncles, from your mother's side of the family, waiting outside of the room. Your Uncle Daniel and aunt Mei isn't there though, "Uncle Daniel? Aunty Mei?" You ask.

"Wen to get us some coffee as we all need it," the youngest uncle tells you, "You should go in," he suggest and you nod.

Toru takes you in and immediately you see your mother by your father's side. Holding his hand and gently placing soft little pecks on it as she looks at him with a smile and tears in her eyes. Your father's siblings are on the other side, next to your father with a smile as they're glad to see how he's going to make it through.

And then you look at your father who's laying there. Machines around him but he's breathing and alive, that's why matters. You smile to see him because you wouldn't know what you would do if he had died.

"Let's go tell the others," you say as you look at Toru and he nods. He takes you out of the room and to where your siblings, cousins and grandparents are. When you were taken in, everyone looks at you, "We received news about dad," you say as you look at your siblings who stand up anxiously.
