Chapter 6: A Free Day

Recap:

I then analyzed the moving photo of me. It was me with my hair flowing in Hogwarts. I chuckled.

"This photo does need a bit of an update though," I said 

Present:

Y/N's POV:

"We can take another photo..." he suggested

"Maybe not now..." I said, I then see the little Niffler clinging onto my suit pants, I then bent down and offered my hand, the Niffler climbed onto my hands

"That's Teddy," Newt says "He's a bit of a sneaky little thief,"

"I think he's adorable," I said placing him on my shoulder

"Careful he'd take your earring," he points out, Teddy looks at me as he tries to touch my earrings, I then eyed him, Teddy then backs away and it looks like he was begging  "Well he seems intimidated by you,"

"No, I don't think so," I said with a smile, I then take out a silver coin and hand it to Teddy, Teddy then smiles and snuggles near my neck and hops off to his pile of goods "I think he likes me very much, thank you,"

He then smirks "Is there anything you'd like to do today?"

"Aren't you suppose to stay out of sight?" I asked, "You know, with MACUSA on your back?"

"We'd be fine," he insists, he says he then grabs my hand and pulls me out of the suitcase, he locks it. Everybody was still asleep, he then apparates with me, we then popped up in an alleyway

"Where are we?" I asked, I then see a humongous park covered with trees

"This is Central Park, it's the most famous park here," he says "MACUSA wouldn't expect us here,"

"I'm not worried about me, more worried about you," I stated "It's not like my face is plastered on the wanted signs,"

He chuckles. He then walks around. The trees were covered in snow and the lakes and body of water were frozen. I see squirrels climbing on the trees and eating food. 

"I've always liked winter," I stated 

"Why's that? Because you would always go to Honeydukes and buy a lot of sweets?" he says with a chuckle, I then chuckled with him

"You know me too well," I said with a smile, I then felt a snowflake landing on my nose "It's snowing,"

Newt's POV:

She stuck out her tongue to catch a snowflake, she's just like a child. Her cheeks were rosy like a rose. Her eyes were glimmering like stars on a starry night. My heart throbbed, she was beautiful. I then took off my scarf and wrapped it around Y/N. She then adjusts it.

"It's chilly," I stated, she then looks at the scarf and then at me

"Thank you," she smiles, she wasn't wearing gloves either, I then slowly grabbed tried to grab her hand, I then touched her finger, she then held my hand softly, they were cold

"Your cold," I said, I then held her hand and placed them in my pocket

"You got a lot bolder," she says 

"Well, a lot has changed," I lied, she then reaches on top of my head and ruffles my hair, I slightly blushed

"You got a lot of snow in your hair Newt," she says "Should we go somewhere to eat?"

Her hand exited my pocket and I followed her. We then stopped by a cafe. She ordered a coffee and I ordered a piece of cake. We got our items and sat down near the windows.

Y/N's POV:

I sipped my coffee and stared outside the window.

"So what are you going to do when you go back to London?" he asks

"Well first off I have to take you to the Ministry of Magic, to deal with you," I said, his eyes then widened "You knew there were consequences right?

"Of course, of course, I knew," he says "I mean afterward,"

"Work," I said sipping more coffee, I then noticed two men across the street, they looked like Aurors, I quickly patted his hand "Newt, Newt. Aurors,"

He then looks up. I then pulled him out of the shop.

"My cake!" he says

"You can get another one later," I said, I then entered an abandoned alleyway and apparated back to the Goldstein's flat, we then see the Goldstein's and Jacob getting ready for the day

"Where have you guys gone?" Tina asks

"Newt decided to show me around New York," I said "Quite interesting,"

"Glad you like New York," Tina smiles "Coffee?"

"Oh! I had coffee earlier, but thank you for the offer," I said I then took off my coat and hung it on the coat rack "I'm going to be working on files, so don't mind me,"

I then placed all of the files and cases I've been working on. I laid them out on the table and looked at each one carefully. Varying from wizards using magic in the muggle world and dangerous ones. 

"Theseus must be making you work to the bone," Newt commented

"Indeed, when you become a well-known Auror like me, the workload increases," I sighed and continued reading the files 

"Right! You fought in the war," Queenie says "Your a war hero?"

"Yes, saved a lot of people during the war," I stated "Problem is that I can't even leave my apartment without the Daily Prophet blocking my way,"

"Weren't you also a quidditch player?" Tina asks

"Oh right, I was, a seeker in Hogwarts," I stated

"She holds the fastest seeker quidditch title," Newt adds "She's extremely skilled and intelligent when playing,"

"Weren't you gone when I broke the record?" I raised my eyebrow, he then adverts his eyes away from me

"I-I might've heard from Dumbledore about that..." he states

"Hm..." I said, I then continued analyzing the files "Right...You were close with Dumbledore,"

"I thought you would be close to Dumbledore, since you were the best student in the school your OWLs scores were the highest, highest grades, quidditch player?" he asks

"Well Newt, not everybody has a special relationship between a professor and student like the two of you," I chuckled "Dumbledore wasn't particularly fond of me...You know, how was a bit of a trouble-maker,"

"A bit?" he asks raising his eyebrow

"Okay, fine, a bit more than a bit," I smiled

"You were a trouble-maker?" Tina asks

"Oh yes, I did all kinds of silly things at school, doused a girl's food with a laughing potion, tricked a couple of students on Halloween, spooked first and second years," I chuckled

"Don't forget that you also dyed someone's hair bright orange," Newt added

"Oh! And that," I said smiling
