Chapter 12 - Ghost From The Past

Leo tossed and turned, breathing heavily at the scene that his brain served him as tonight's dream.

'Am I not worthy to be entitled as your wife?'

'Babe, it's not that. Listen to me first--'

'Don't touch me.'

''No..''

'Let me explain, okay? Hana, we're still young! I still want to reach for my dreams and didn't you said you wanted to paint?'

'There you go. So you admit that you'd pick your dream over me. Who am I anyway? I'm nothing but a girl who always been left for something or someone else. You know what? Fine! I genuinely wish for your happiness, Leo but I'm sorry to say that this is where we should part ways.'

''No...please...''

Hana quickly picked up her bag and dashed out of their shared apartment before Leo could see her tears fall. She loved the latter, she really do. But the past few days they often fight, so far from how they used to when they were just a new couple. She was so sure of Leo, heck they are even tied with a red string, so despite her being the woman in the relationship, she stoop down her pride and she was the one who proposed to Leo. But her world shattered in pieces when Leo said no.

With her emotions bringing up to the surface, she absent-mindedly crossed the road without seeing a car approaching her way.

As Leo opened the door of the apartment, he was horrified with the scene infront. Hana was laying on the ground bathing on her own blood with a few broken bones.

''NO!!!'' Leo shouted and opened his eyes, panting heavily.

If that scene wasn't hunting him enough, well Hana's last words surely do.

'L-leo...I l-love...y-you...P-please...live h-happy wi...thout m-me.' Hana managed to said and it only took one gasp before she laid limp on Leo's arms.

It was a nightmare; A ghost from his past. And who'd fall asleep after having a nightmare? Definitely not Leo. So he grabbed a thick jacket and decided to have a little stroll outside and leave it to where his feet brings him.

He found himself in front of a bar. ''It wouldn't hurt for a bottle I guess.'' He went inside and ordered the cheapest alcoholic beverage he could get, not wanting his money to drain from drinking...again. Well, atleast he tried.

It's already his 4th bottle and he feels it wasn't effecting him yet so he ordered another one, totally ignoring what he said earlier that 'to not spend much'. When the beer bottle was about to be in-contact with his lips, he felt a hand stopping him.

''That's enough you brat. We have school tomorrow.'' A girl said as Leo squinted his eyes to hopefully fix his now blurry vision. It took him a few moments when he seem to recognize the girl.

''You look like my friend Hyeon HA HA!'' Leo snorted and giggled, totally wasted.

''Bitch because I AM Hyeon and I'm telling you to get your ass outta here and go home or I'll do it myself.'' Aehyeon shouted because of the loud music blaring through the bar's speakers but Leo didn't seem to hear her instead he started dancing in tiny, annoying Aehyeon.

If you ever wondered why she's always around when Leo gets drunk is because she's working there as a barista but Leo was always too dumb to see her by the corner. But tonight, her shift wasn't over yet so she can't drag Leo home like what she did last time.

''Leo! Get up now! Aish this kid...'' She muttered, thinking of a way to solve this boy out of the mess. An idea popped on her mind and fished for Leo's phone and tried to contact anyone who can fetch this doofus of a friend of hers.

''Auntie could be asleep now and I don't like waking up adults because they're cranky when they get disturbed in sleep. Who could I call?'' She scrolled to Leo's contacts and made up her mind to call up one of his friends.

''James? His house is far from here. JJ, nah I don't wanna wake the poor child. Same as his brother Jihoon. Woochan...we're not that close. ARGH If only Junil wasn't injured. I think Sangwon will do.'' She then dialed Sangwon's number using Leo's phone. After a few rings, someone finally picked up the call.

|Dude WTF. Do you know what time is it?!| Sangwon grumpily answered, his sleepy tone was obvious.

|Won, this is Aehyeon. Leo's here at Shinjeong Bar, wasted and passed out. Could you pick him up? I can't leave here because my shift isn't over.| Aehyeon partly shouted and covered her other ear to be able to hear Sangwon.

|ARGHHH! I'm on my way! Hyeon-ah stay there.| Aeheyon heard Sangwon groaned and mumbled incoherent words which made her chuckle. The beauty of their friendship is that no matter how tired one can be, it will still be on the other's backs.

''Ready your ears tomorrow. I'm sure Sangwon will get back at you.'' She giggled and put the phone back to Leo's pocket. After a few minutes, Sangwon came with disheveled hair, not that it lessened his handsomeness but it actually added his attractiveness.

''Tsk! We're both dead when our agency heard about this. By the way thanks, Hyeon for looking out for this doofus. You can go back to your job now.'' Sangwon said as she walks back to her post.

Next morning came and Leo woke up with a groan. He slowly opened his eyes and it widened in shock when he saw that he was cuddling with Sangwon.

''WHAT THE HECK?!'' Leo shouted in shock and pushed Sangwon off of his bed which had him groan in pain. Leo lifted his hand to touch his throbbing head as if that will do anything.

''WOW. So much for a 'Thank you'. You're welcome by the way.'' Sangwon sarcastically said and glared as he caress his poor back that hit the floor.

''Why are you here in my room?!'' Leo panicked and shielded his body with his arms crossed.

''IDIOT! I freaking fetched you from the bar in the middle of the night and when I was about to leave, you freaking pulled me to the bed and wouldn't let me go! Don't give me that look as if I did something to you! Gross dude!'' Sangwon harshly stood up and wrong move--he hit his shoulder on the nightstand by accident which made the frame above it nearly fall if it wasn't for his fast reflexes. Leo gasped and calmed when the picture frame didn't fell.

''OWW! Wait what's this?'' Sangwon looked at the photo that had him confused because the kids on the picture looked familiar. One girl and one boy. The boy looked like Leo so he assumed it was him but the girl, he think he saw her before. Then a hand snatched the frame from his hand.

''Erm, it's nothing. Go downstairs and have breakfast first before leaving. We're gonna be late for school.'' Leo said which made Sangwon more suspicious. Was it Hana? No, Hana had round eyes, the one in the picture doesn't. He just shrugged it off and head down as he was told. Leo then turned to the bathroom and got ready for school.

Hours passed and it was almost their lunch break. Leo kept scratching his pinky finger. It was annoyingly itchy from this morning. He then stared at it and saw a rather unbelievable sight. The string is flickering, regaining its radiant red color. What does that supposed to mean?
