kenma sat on the stool, playing some of the keys on the grand piano that sat in the empty classroom. he just finished up his last lesson and was about to head to his parent's house.

it was christmas day.

kenma packed up his stuff and left the classroom, making sure to lock it. the weather was alright, there was a light snow fall but that didn't bother kenma all that much.

his parent's apartment wasn't far from the local community college, so he went by foot. walking down the busy streets of tokyo was comforting. he stopped by some shops to look through the window.

"kenma?"

the pudding head turned to see kuroo standing there. cake box in one hand and eita's hand in the other.

eita let go of kuroo's hand and ran up to kenma, extending his arm out. kenma laughs, picking the toddler up.

"hi eita, happy birthday," he giggles.

kuroo walks up to them, smiling. "you heading over to your parents' place?"

kenma nods his head, "yeah, what about you? hanging out with the others today?"

"nah," he shook his head. "they're all with their parents and families today, so it's just me and eita."

kenma made an 'oh' face as the two walked down the side walk. eita was still in kenma's arms, face snuggled up against his neck.

"want to come with me to my parent's house? i'm sure they wouldn't mind you there."

kuroo looks over, "you should spend time with your family, kenma."

he shrugs, "my mom loves you, so i don't think it'll be a problem if you're there."

"what about your dad?"

"my dad loves little kids, so i think once he sees eita, he's going to like you."

"interesting family you have,"

"i get that a lot," kenma laughs. "so, you coming over?"

kuroo looks down at the cake in his hand and then at eita, who was just staring at the snow falling from the sky.

"if it isn't a hassle,"

"my parent's house isn't far from here, come on, let's go." and kenma grabbed kuroo's hand, leading the way.

kenma was right. the walk wasn't all that far at all. his parent's room was on the fifth floor, but since the elevator wasn't working, they had to walk up the stairs instead.

kenma unlocked the door and greeted his parents.

"kenma, what took you so lon— oh! tetsurou!" kenma's mom — sumi — greets. "i didn't know you were going to be visiting us today!"

"kenma dragged me here,"

kenma shot kuroo a dirty look and put eita down. he took the cake from kuroo's hand and took off his shoes, "i invited him to hangout with us," he then looks around the apartment. "where's dad?"

"your father went out to get some take out," sumi answers. she helped eita with his jacket and lead him in the house. "make yourself at home, tetsurou!"

kuroo slightly bows at her, "thank you, sorry for coming uninvited."

"it's fine! more the merrier."

kuroo walked in the apartment. it was quite spacious, with plants almost everywhere. he saw a white pomeranian on the couch, sleeping. it seems like eita also saw it too because he immediately went over to go look at it.
