kuroo woke up to the sound of a rain hitting his window. his eyes fluttered opened. as he gain back his senses, he felt something heavy on his arm. kuroo turned to see that eita crawled into bed with him and nana — since she usually sleeps in the same bed with him when sleeping over.

kuroo smiles, brushing eita's hair away from his eyes. he saw that nana was cuddled up with the blanket, looking tiny as ever.

his movements probably woke eita up, since kuroo saw his son started to rub his eyes. eita let out a yawn, accidentally smacking nana in the process. this resulted in her waking up too.

kuroo laughs. "good morning."

nana let out a small "no" and pulled the covers over her head since it was raining outside. eita let out a small laugh and climbed over to nana, laying on top of her.

"eita, do you need something?" nana asks, staring at him.

"kai, wanna go to the aqua place with me and papa today?"

"hey now, eita. i don't even know if we can go today," kuroo told him. "it's raining."

"oh come on, kuroo!" nana exclaimed. "i'll go with you guys, a little rain can't hurt me."

eita threw his hands in the air. "yay! i'll go get ready." and jumped off the bed.

nana laughs as she watches the toddler reach for the door handle and waddle out of the room. she gave kuroo a look. "man, your son is the cutest."

kuroo hums, dropping his head on nana's shoulder. the pub usually doesn't open until 4 p.m, so usually kuroo is free for the day. nana turned over to kuroo and placed her head on top of his.

"you're really warm," kuroo says, eyes closed.

"my hands are freezing though."

kuroo took nana's hand and laced their fingers together. he laughs. "they are cold."

"kuroo, we both need to get dressed."

"five more minutes..." he mumbles, wanting to fall asleep again.

"why are you like this?"

kuroo thought for moment before grinning.

"because i'm nana's favorite."

nana let out a scoff, pushing kuroo off of her. she got up from the bed, stretching her back. she was in an oversized shirt — probably kuroo's — and booty shorts.

"dad! kai! are you guys ready?" eita shouts from across the apartment. the two let out a laugh before yelling back a 'no' to eita, telling him to give them more time.

the two got dressed and went to the kitchen, where eita was sitting there, enjoying a bowl of cereal he made for himself. although eita is almost 4 years old, he's more independent that most toddlers.

kuroo took a good look at himself in the mirror before heading over to the door. he motioned his head at nana and eita, telling them they should get going.

nana took eita's hand and the three headed out of the small apartment. kuroo opened an umbrella that barely fit the three of them. they walked down the streets of tokyo.

eita started to giggle, kicking water around. "i wanna see a lot of fish today."

"you will," nana says, "who knows, maybe you'll see one as ugly as your dad."

"oi! that's mean, nana!"

nana laughs, taking eita's hand again while kuroo took the other one. if you were a stranger passing by, you would think they were a small family.
