Lift is still trying to figure out who she is as a person and that includes like fashion sense and stuff. So her style is all over the place but her general vibe is comfortable over stylish. If there's a chance that it would break while she was doing stuff then there's be no chance she'd wear it.
Her color pallet includes lots of patterns and quite a bit of green things because that's her color.
Lift met Shallan once and they bonded over stuff and are kind of friends.
Lift is the kid who knows all the college kids and the ins and outs of campus even though she's in middle school.

Szeth wears lots of white because of his time as the assassin. He used to be a mercenary but now he's just kinda Rich and he may be a bodyguard or a spy. (Spoilers he's neither he's just a security guard on campus but nobody truly believes him.) He has taken Lift under his wing and thinks of her like his daughter. It's a sweet bond
He met Shallan and Adolin once and Adolin helped him diversify his wardrobe to things that weren't all white and adding colors after szeth said something about how he doesn't like that color.
However Szeth still has a very white and cream color pallet and that's just his vibe.

Most of Rlains wardrobe has patterns with either stripes or checkered stuff. Fall tones (olive greens, oranges, tans, browns etc) make up most of his color pallet as to pull out the orange marbling of the parshendi skin.
He is studying music and history and met Renarin as they're in a study group together. And during the proceedings of this class he realized he might have feelings for Renarin and told that to his advisor (Jasnah) meanwhile Renarin does the same thing to HIS advisor (also Jasnah) and she makes a comment about how someone else said the same thing earlier today and later Renarin makes the connections and asks to do a bit of one-on-one studying with Rlain anyway they meet up and in the midst of studying Renarin says something about how he thinks Rlain is cute and yeah! It's fun
