SNEAKING OUT wasn't exactly Angel's speciality. Her parents were lax enough that she never truly felt the need to sneak around. Yet here she was, slipping through her window at 2 in the morning.

She cursed quietly as she landed on the gravel below her window and slowly rose to her feet again, shutting it but leaving a small space so she could easily sneak back in again. She purposely left her bike on the side on her house earlier so she didn't have to rummage through the garage for it when she left. She hopped on and started heading toward her destination, a place she already is regretting her journey to.

At her arrival, she had specific instructions on how to enter the person's bed room. Which she wasn't looking forward to. It was a second floor window right above some small cacti and other spiked plants. Angel cursed again and walked over to the side of the house, grabbing a hold of the pipe that cascaded down, right next to the window. Angel is not an athlete in the slightest. Her upper body strength is nearly nonexistent so it's taking all her motivation to pull her weight up this stupid pipe.

"All this for a fucking booty call?" she muttered under her breath, finally reaching the windowsill and knocking on the glass. It immediately swung open and perfectly manicured hands gripped onto angels forearms, hoisting her up and through the window. Before Angel could even plant her feet, lips were smashed against hers. Her shirt was being pulled up and Two fingers tugged at her belt loop, making the two feminine waists press against the other. "Cassie, jesus, slow down." Angel grumbled against the other girl's soft lips. It was taking all her strength to not just melt into Cassie's grasp.

"I missed you." She whined, her finger nails softly holding onto Angel's waist. Her statement only made Angel roll her eyes. "Did your boy toy blow you off today?" Angel replied, stepping back. Cassie scoffed a few times, averting her eyes. "What-What do you mean?" She chuckled nervously, stepping closer to Angel again. "I'm not blind Cassie."

Soon, Lexi cleared her throat, standing in the bathroom door way. "Um..." The brunette said awkwardly, shuffling to her bed. "Look Cass," Angel started in whisper, "In the beginning, when I first started coming over here, I wanted this. I wanted you. But as I climbed at literal pipe for you, I realized that you don't really give a fuck about me. You just can't go five minutes with out some sort of validation. I cant be that 2nd choice for you. This is too unhealthy." She spoke, looking at Cassie.

Her words only made the blonde scoff again and turn away, crossing her arms in frustration. "See ya, Cass." Angel sighed, heading back to the window. "Jesus Angel just use the front door." Lexi quickly blurted. Angel flashed her a friendly smile and went to their door. "See you at auditions, Lex." Ang said, waving bye and walking out.

The next day, Angel couldn't help but be filled with anxiety. She waited in the long line of students, all excited for the auditions. Angel was surprised yet pleased with the impressive turn out for Lexi's play. Two fingers poked at Angel's sides making her jump and she turned, already knowing who it was.

"Ethan, I swear to god." Angel chuckled, meeting the scrawny boy's eyes. He flashed her a friendly smile and stood next her, his back leaning against the auditorium wall. "Nervous?" He asked. Angel shrugged, trying to play it cool. It only made Ethan chuckle again. "Hey it's okay, you're gonna kill it." He smiled down at her, placing a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder.Somehow, he immediately calmed Angel down. She took a deep breath and waited along side him.

The line grew shorter and shorter and soon enough it was Angel's turn. She stepped onto the large stage and under the harsh theatre lights. Lexi sat in the audience, flipping through different pages of her script. The two shared a friendly look. "Whenever you're ready, Ang." Lexi said, sitting back in her chair.

Angel took a moment, taking another breath. It wasn't hard to put herself in her cousin's shoes. She had observed Rue her whole life. She thought back to all the hard times. When Rue's father died, when she started getting hooked on drugs, all the fights the two of them had, the nights Rue had panic attacks on Angel's floor yet refused help. Angel had to helplessly watch some one she loved with her whole heart deteriorate into something so unfamiliar.

She let those feelings boil and started to read from the pages. She couldn't help but choke up every once and a while. All her surroundings seemed to just melt away. She felt as though she was saying all these things to Rue. Angel could practically see her standing in front of her. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she finished her last line and folded the paper back into her hands. She didn't want to look up yet. She wasn't ready to see Lexi's face or look of to the side to see Ethan. She grasped her lip between her teeth and stepped back a bit.

She took another breath, this one much more shaken then the ones before and finally looked up. She was shocked to see Lexi with a smile on her face. Angel quickly wiped her tears away and cleared her throat. "That was amazing, Ang." Lexi spoke. "Oh. thank you." Angel replied, sheepishly smiling. "The cast list will be posted tomorrow." She added, motioning for Angel to step off the stage. She waved good bye to Lex before leaving and waiting for Ethan.

She slid down a wall in an empty hallway and looked down at her phone seeing a message.

"I couldn't wait! I knew from the first line that you'd be jade. Congrats. See you at rehearsals. -Lex"
