Janitor

Lumapit ako roon. Kunot ang noo at nagtataka sa bellboy na iyon. May kailangan ba siya sa akin?

"Uhm, excuse me? Do you need something?" I asked.

He was like he got snapped back into reality because of it. Quickly, he covered his face with his hat. He stepped back three times and turned his back on me.

That's weird but I don't care.

"Uh.. Uhm." Tumikhim siya at pinalalim ang boses. "I... Uhh... Just..."

Napapitik ko ang aking daliri nang maalalang baka siya iyong bellboy na nangunguha ng basura kada araw.

"Oh, right. Wait a sec,"

Pumasok ako sa loob at kinuha ang garbage bag ko sa kitchen. Pati na rin sa bathroom. This is the worst thing of checking in to a cheap classy hotel. Especially in provinces. You don't have the same quality from five star hotels.

But this is better than being found.

Lumabas ako at binigay iyon sa bellboy na nakayuko pa rin. I tried to see his face but he won't allow me. I brushed it off and just let it go. Hindi ko naman ugali na mangialam ng privacy ng isang tao.

"T-thank you," mabilis niyang sabi bago umalis pagkatapos na pagkatapos niyang makuha ang mga basura ko.

Bumalik na ako sa aking kuwarto at napagpasyahan na maglinis ng katawan. I am sweaty and untidy because I stayed outside. I need to refresh myself. Maybe, I'll search for something entertaining.

Or matutulog nalang ako at baba for dinner later. Right! So that's what I did. I slept after I bathed and choose casual clothes before going down the restaurant.

So far, it's been good to be free and alone. I ate my dinner silently. We are outside the restaurant, near the shore. There's a performer singing in front of us, on the small platform with a band making the music.

May mga couples din na kasama ko. Actually, ako lang ang mag-isa at nasa gitna pa. Wala rin naman akong pakialam kaya tahimik lang akong nag-enjoy sa aking dinner.

Patapos na ako nang may lumapit sa akin. Iyong lalaking nagperform na huli sa stage. He gave me a flashy smile and friendly waved his hand on me.

"Hi, I'm Luca." He stretched his hand.

Of course I didn't take it. Ngumiti lang ako ng kunti.

"Nice to meet you then,"

"Mind if I join you?" Dumako ang mga mata ko sa pag-usog niya ng upuan nang hindi ko pa pinahihintulutan.

Manners. This guy don't even know how to properly socialize.

"Actually, I am done. If you need a table for your dinner, you can use this."

Tumayo na ako pagkatapos kong punasan ang gilid ng labi ko ng tissue. Natigilan nga lang ako nang hawakan ako ng lalaki sa braso. I glared at his hand holding me. Agad niyang tinanggal iyon.

"Sorry, I just want to talk to you."

Pasimple kong pinagpagan ang hinawakan niya sa akin at pormal ko siyang tiningnan. I am tired and I don't like hearing any socializing conversation right now. I want to rest and this guy is bothering me.

"Uhh," he laughed awkwardly. "I was just... trying my chance to be your friend. You look pretty lonely while I was performing,"
