Adam's POV:
It was just a normal Thursday at school. Prom was just two months away & I was thinking about asking Y/N out to Prom & for her to be my girlfriend. She's been my best friend for three years & I think she should know how I feel.

I was walking on my way to Algebra until I saw Y/N standing by her locker, talking & giggling with Connie. Oh how I adored her beautiful smile & her rosy colored cheeks. Her beautiful Y/E/C eyes always seem to sparkle when she's in her bubbly mood. Her smile always brightens up whatever room she's in.

I was honestly kinda nervous despite how I feel about her, but I already have to talk with the Ducks next period before lunch.

Y/N's POV:
I was talking with Connie until I heard footsteps behind me. Connie looked behind me & gave me a smirk. "Y/N, I think your boyfriend's coming."

I sighed & glared at her playfully, nudging her in the arm. "Mr. Cake-eater ain't my boyfriend. You know he's my best friend, miss Velvet Hammer."

Adam walked up to us. "Hey Y/N. Hey Connie. Connie, do you mind if I talk to Y/N in private real quick before we get to class?"

Connie nodded her head & looked at me. "Oh no, I don't mind at all. The talk seems like it's serious, so I'm gonna go. Bye Banks, bye bestie.". She waved at us & walked off to her class.

I looked back at Adam. "So Banksie, what was it that you wanted to talk to me about?"

He messed with his dirty blonde hair. "Oh. Umm, I just wanted to ask you if you were gonna go to Prom next Saturday or if anyone was taking you?"

I shook my head. "No, I don't think so. No one has asked me yet apparently. I've been wanting to go to Prom, but I guess I'll just wait til probably next year...."

Adam sighed & looked down at his feet. "Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna go either. I have some things to do anyway. Sorry about that."

I shrugged my shoulders. "It's alright. Don't worry about it. Well, I'm gonna head to class already. I'll probably talk to you later. Bye Banksie.", I said as I walked off & waved.

He waved back with a smile & walked off to his next class.

Fourth period had just ended. I speedwalked out of my class to put my books up in my locker real quick before I headed off to lunch. As I opened my locker, a guy had leaned on the locker next to mine. "Hey there gorgeous."

I immediately recognized that voice, it was Rick. I sighed & rolled my eyes, closing my locker & turning towards him. "What do you want, Rick? I already told you that I'm not interested and never will be."

He chuckled. "Woah there, Y/L/N. I'm not trying to press your buttons. I was just wondering if you wanted to dance the night away with me at Prom. We would totally have a great time, princess.", he winked at me.

I gave him an "I'm not interested look." "Okay one, I'm not interested and I like someone else. Two, aren't you with Mindy, you player?" I shoved past him & walked off to the lunch room.

I walked into the lunch room to put my stuff down at the table where us Ducks usually sit at only to see no one there. I looked around in concern. "Hmm, I wonder where everyone else is. I know they're here."

I sat down at our table & took my favorite book out of my backpack to read. I hope they ain't trying to play a prank on me now.

A couple of minutes went by & I heard Scooter the Varsity jock speak from the table across from me. "What are Banksie and the Ducks up to?"

I turned my head immediately to see Adam & the Ducks walking towards me. I got up & walked towards them. "Hey guys. Where were y'all? And what are some of you holding behind y'all's backs?"

Him & the others looked at each other with a smirk. "Oh nothing. We were just going over a plan.", Adam said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Uhh, what plan? I'm confused."

A few of the Ducks put the signs in the air. I looked up & gasped lightly. Adam smiled & pulled out a Rose bouquet from behind his back. The rest of the Ducks were still smiling.

I was too speechless to speak. "Banksie....I don't even know what to say.", I laughed.

He laughed. "Yeah, I've been planning this since last week. Me and the Ducks have talked about it without you knowing. Besides that, I just wanted to let you know and ask you something."

I nodded my head for him to continue. "We've been best friends for three years and I can't hide it anymore. I have feelings for you, Y/N. I always have. You're so beautiful, adorable, kindhearted, and any other words that I can think of. I wouldn't want to be with anyone else, but you. I just thought that today would be a good day to ask this."

He grabbed my hand gently. "Y/N, will you go to Prom with me and be my girlfriend?"

I giggled. "Yes and double yes!". I received the bouquet from him & gave him a big hug.

The Ducks & the other students in the Cafeteria cheered. "Get it Banksie!", I heard Scooter yell. Rick rolled his eyes and looked away. Looks like someone's butthurt.

We let go of each other from the hug. "It's about time you asked me, Cake-eater.", I joked. He chuckled & kissed my forehead. We held hands as we walked to our lunch table.

I honestly didn't expect to get asked to Prom & to be a girlfriend in one day, but I wouldn't have it any other way with Adam. He's the sweetest.
