Venti POV
Venti trotted down the road, the trees shading above him. His lips pressed together, humming a tune filled with pure joy.
The forest smells relaxed the bard as he continued to pad along the path of Monstadt. His shoes tapped on the soft dirt. Venti's arms swung back and forth, his tune continuing.
As he slowed down his pace to walk towards a certain tree, he saw a figure. His tune came to a stop as he took a step forward, then quickly recognized the figure.
"Xiao! Why are you here?" Venti stepped out from the tree's shade and walked towards them. Xiao turned his head.
"Barbatos?" He muttered softly.
Venti chuckled. "You mustn't act so formal around me! I'd prefer if you just called me Venti~"
Xiao nodded in response. "Ah, sorry. My dearest apologies."
Venti sighed. "You don't seem to really get it, do you..." He muttered but shook his head when Xiao stepped forward.
"If it's alright with you... I'd like to tell you something." Xiao scratched his head, looking down.
"You don't need to ask me, Xiao! I already told you, we're friends, you don't need to be this formal around me~"
Xiao sighed and bowed his head slightly, then quickly realized and brought it back up. "I mean- Yes, of course."
"Before you tell me anything, let's sit down so we can enjoy the sunset together!" The Anemo Archon glanced at the Adepti. "Oh, alright." Xiao agreed.
The two sat down together on the fields of grass, watching the fades of yellow and orange in the skies. Only half of the sun was above the horizon now. It was quite a beautiful sight.
The two Anemo users sat together in silence, admiring the skies before Venti piped up. "So, what is it you wish to tell me?" The Archon leaned his head towards him teasingly, smiling.
The Conquerer of Demons stared at Venti as he got close to his face. He stayed a bit quiet, but he finally said something after a few moments.
"I love you." Xiao said firmly. He then scooted closer, grabbing Venti's hand and pulling him closer. Their faces were closer than before, noses almost touching one another's now.
The wind blew harder, the grass rustling. Venti's dark braids blew along with the breeze. The Archon's heart beat loudly.
"Can you... Repeat that..?" Venti felt a bit shocked, face heating up.
"Must I spell it out for you?" The Adepti moved his face closer, golden eyes blank. Venti could feel Xiao's breath on his cheek.
"No- erm..." Venti felt speechless, eyes staring straight into Xiao's. The two shared a moment together, the bright sun glistening above them, above the tree's leaves.
Xiao suddenly pulled away and let go of his grip on Venti's wrist, eyes widened. "I'm... so sorry," He gasped.

Xiao stood up, taking a few stew steps backward. He turned. "I'll leave. Sorry for wasting your time, Lord Barbatos."
