My question is why you guys suggested angst so much but here you go!! This concept is a little weird and confusing IMO, but you guys can have your own interpretation if it doesn't make sense... Anyway, enjoy!! Read the end notes too<3

"..No, you don't."
Standing there, the young man looked at the other. His eyes widened and his heart broken, shattered into a thousand pieces. The very same heart he wore on his sleeve for the older one that stood in front of him.
"I-" He began, but was quickly cut off.
The other began to scream, eyes watering with the rain that showered over him. His voice was hoarse, and it only made it more unbearable to hear. "Why would you do it?! Why! Have you forgotten about me? Us? You broke our promise."
"I didn't and still don't have a choice! Anyway, it's safer for us to separate, I don't want to involve you..."
"It's not about my involvement, it's about us being together! It's about us living happily. Why can't you just leave?..." The last sentence was muttered. Tears dripped down the older's face. "I can't believe you.
"You really are a bad person."
***
Who do you think you are?
I don't know. That's the thing.
You're pathetic. You know that, right?
I'm stronger than you.
No, you're a failure. At least I can admit it.
"Shut up!" Xiao shouted, eyes wide and his mouth agape. His chest heaved, and his breathing was unsteady. Slowly gaining back consciousness, Xiao attempted to calm himself, he tried to soothe his spinning mind.
As he stared up at the beige, cracked ceiling, Xiao melted back into his bed sheets and soon regained his senses. He heaved a deep sigh. He couldn't exactly tell, but the cool feeling of the atmosphere told him that it was still night. Why he woke up, he was unsure. Though, Xiao assumed it was a panic response when he had a nightmare.
Xiao raised himself and slowly sat up with a grunt. He didn't feel like going back to bed, maybe he just needed a walk to calm himself a little further. Perhaps a fresh bowl of almond tofu and a book to read under a comfortable, yellow light on a wooden, scratched desk.
Yeah, that sounds relaxing. Xiao thought to himself with a small smile as he crawled out of bed. Distracting himself from the dream was all he could think of.
He put on a pair of dark-colored pants and a jacket over the white t-shirt that he slept in. Xiao unlocked his bedroom door and walked out into the eerie hall outside. Many other familiar rooms were lined along and across from his. All were labeled with a number, his room being '247'.
Xiao began to walk down the dimly lit hallway but was stopped by the sigh of someone he recognized.
"Ganyu? Why are you up?"
Not far from him stood a blue-haired girl with crimson eyes. She wisped around. "I should be asking you that," Ganyu muttered, but she quickly approached him.
"Bad dream," Xiao said simply. Ganyu nodded in understanding.
"I heard a noise above, so I got up to go check it out." She explained.
"Could I come with you?" He asked.
Ganyu shrugged. "Sure, if you want. I'm not sure if it's the best way to calm down, though." She turned around and walked off, Xiao followed close behind.
