Chapter XIV

=Painful Reunion=

"S-sir, the boss said not to hurt—" one of the group said but was interrupted

"I don't need your reminder" The masked man hissed and others flinched by his tone "I'm just going to teach her a lesson" He chuckled while taking a step closer to the girl

He grabbed her hair firmly and (y/n) grunted through pain. The man was about to slap her but was interrupted by someone screaming and gunshots from the side. The pyro agent along with his minions turned their heads towards the sound with a confused look

"Sir! Someone's attacking us!" A man yelled while running towards their leader

'This is my chance!' she said to herself and kicked the agent's abdomen as which he groaned while touching his stomach. (y/n) immediately took someone's hand on her mouth then twisted his arm to the back and he screamed causing others to turn their heads while pointing their weapons at the girl

"Go ahead and shoot! Luckily, I have a nice shield~" she mocked and they hesitated to shoot before their 'leader' regained his balance ' Heh, Good thing Xiao teached me some self defense'

"Gladly, this weapon should break through your worthless shield," He said and the man in front of (y/n) shivered with fear once his leader showed his sharp weapon and pointed towards them

"S-sir! Y-you must be kidding, r-right?"  the man asked their leader while in (y/n)'s grasp but the pyro fatui agent laughed because of his fear

"When did I ever make jokes?" He asked and she widen her eyes with disbelief 'IS HE REALLY GONNA KILL HIS TEAMMATE?' (y/n) thought while some sweat was dropping on her forehead

As he threw his knife-like weapon towards them with full speed, it was stopped by some sort of dagger midway while another one went quickly towards the pyro agent, hitting his shoulder and grunts through pain. (y/n) was relieved that the weapon was stopped by someone but soon as she turned her head to see who threw it, She had a surprised expression

(y/n) saw Diluc with a murderous look on his face by looking at his red glowing eyes. 'Why is he here? How did he know where to find me?!' Thoughts were clouded on (y/n)'s head and Diluc spoke

"You've made the wrong move this time, fatui." He threatened but the pyro agent growled while stopping the blood coming out from his shoulder

'THE FATUI?! THAT'S WHY THEY'RE SO FAMILIAR!' She said to herself while realizing their occupation. (y/n) heard about fatuis before when she's in high school back in Liyue. Saying that they're the most popular of being a dangerous group of people in teyvat, but she then thought about something about her past 'So... Is Childe part of the Fatui too?' she asked herself with a blank expression

Without even thinking straight, she loosened her grip on the fatui's arm then got a chance to escape from her grasp with a chuckle. The fatui was about to cut her in half but Diluc immediately went towards the man in a flash and slashed the part of his chest without hesitation

It made (y/n) come back to her senses because of the fatui's loud scream and she looked up to see Diluc's fierce expression with blood on his face. He then grabbed the gun from the fatui's pocket while she stared at him with shock

"D-Diluc!?" (y/n) exclaimed which caught Diluc's attention and turned around to face her with widened eyes

"Are you hurt?" He asked as he furrowed his eyebrows while inspecting her figure

"I-I'm fine.. But... How did you—? *gasp* LOOK OUT!" She warned him and Diluc noticed. He quickly blocked the enemy's knife with his arm to cover (y/n). She widen her eyes and was shocked that Diluc blocked it with his arm while he groaned in pain. "Diluc! Why would you-!?"

"*grunt* Just- shut up.. And get close behind me" He said while panting heavily and removed the sharp knife off him. (y/n) followed his request and was worried about his arm, but minutes later, someone came unexpectedly

"How cute. I might die because of how cheesy you guys are."

'That voice-'

"I mean, I did the same before too. But I treated you better than anyone, of course."

The voice said while you're frozen in place with a dark expression. It came from behind her and Diluc immediately turned and held her tight, placing his arm around (y/n) while pointing the gun towards the man behind her with a glare

"Woah, easy there comrade. I'm just telling the truth~"

'Childe...' (y/n) thought as tears were falling from her eyes while holding Diluc's shirt, reminding him not to let go and Diluc held tightly. The pyro fatui agent flinched and immediately kneeled while placing a hand on his chest along with the other fatuis

"M-Master, I thought you're—" A fatui stuttered

"*sigh* I knew this was going to happen. You guys disappoint me." Childe muttered and the man shivered with fear

"I apologize for our inconvenience, Sir. I thought everything will go according t—"

"oh I dont need your shitty excuse, thank you very much" Childe interrupted the pyro agent as he glared at him

Childe then turned his gaze towards the two and chuckled, like his mood changed immediately as he saw (y/n)

"Hello, (y/n). I'm really happy to see you again. But, I'm quite upset that you brought some pest with you" Childe said with a frown but you're back is still facing him

"Aw c'mon, love. Aren't you happy to see me? Turn around-" Childe was about to touch her shoulder but Diluc pointed the gun on Childe's head, causing him to stop

"Watch where you place your filthy hands, fatui" Diluc hissed while glaring at the ginger-haired man and the fatui quickly pointed their weapons towards Diluc but Childe signals them to not attack.

"Relax, loverboy. *chuckle* really, It's not what you think." Childe said, making Diluc confused

"Im just here for business *sigh* it's getting tiring too" Childe said with a frown on his face while he slowly circled the two

"her majesty's needs are very important and, surprisingly," Childe stopped and turned to point (y/n) with a grin

"my lovely (y/n) has what she wants, and so we need her to come with us *chuckle*"

Both Diluc and (y/n) had a shocked expression as soon as Childe explained what they're doing. (y/n) shivered in fear and Diluc held her tightly even though his wound will worsen

"but let's just say I'll be taking what used to be mine hehe~" Childe teased and Diluc growled at his reply while blood was slowly coming out from his arm, making (y/n) worry more

"Diluc... Your arm.." she whispered and Diluc sighed

"I'm fine.. I'll handle this, (y/n).. I won't let them take you.. Don't worry about me.." Diluc told her while he gently placed his hand on her head to cover her but (y/n) was not convinced.

'Diluc's hurt because of me... I won't let them hurt him any longer!'

(y/n) sighed and turned around to face Childe and he showed his wide smile on his face. Diluc furrowed his eyebrows with a confused expression

"How obedient, (y/n)~. It's nice to see you pretty face aga-"

"Let me tell you something so clear to make your brain get it!" (y/n) said while glaring at him "I'm not yours anymore! And never will be!"

she continued while placing Diluc's hand on her waist making him blush a little but soon realizes her plan quickly and decided to follow her

"I already found someone better than you"
