Today was the day you'd finally return that rangy little mutt back to the park. You placed him into the same duffle bag you used to bring him to your apartment before he caused you to go into mas debt. Again, trying your best to seem as unsuspicious as possible.
You did happen to get a few weird looks from the residents here and there before getting off the elevator. Actually, some of your neighbors even complained about the recent dog noises coming from your room. But you just laughed it off, telling them it was just your new obsession with dog movies that caused such strange noises to come out from your apartment.
Though your excuses were the stupidest things ever heard coming through the mouth of a human being. Somehow, they bought your lies and you managed to go a full week without getting into trouble.
You took him out of the bag once the two of you reached outside. Finally responding to all the muffled barks he kept throwing at you.
You grunt scooping him up in your arms, so that he didn't run off anywhere like before. Not having a leash just making it much more difficult to hold him together. "Don't run off like before okay? If we don't find your owner at the park, I'm taking you to the pet clinic where they'll find your parents" you tell him, as if he was some annoying toddler you were babysitting.
He wagged his tail in response, as you two made it to the park, with him releasing a number of barks from his little mouth as you tried desperately to keep him from jumping out of your arms.
His nose twitched as he took in the familiar earthy smells of the park, before a tiny yellowish-green leaf lands on his nose. You watched as he stared at the leaf, the texture tickling his nose before he lets out a sneeze leaving the leaf to tumble to the ground as you smile fondly at the sight, it almost made you forget how much of a complete troublemaker this dog was.
You walk around the park for a bit, with him in your arms, before your eyes capture a large sycamore tree sheathed with lush green leaves tinted with light shades of oranges and yellows. Autumn was coming in fast, and from the soft chilly breeze brushing past your knees you could tell.
"Arf!" He barks, reverting your attention back to him. Looks like something caught his eye.
Without any less of a thought, he wiggles out of your arms before leaping onto grass, and running off to god knows where. "Hey! Wh-what the-?! Where are you going?!" You yell after him, legs trying their best to catch up to that stupid puppy. Who knew 2 pairs of stubby legs could get you so far.
"Come back-Augh!!"
You bump into what felt like the tall body of a man, face hitting straight into their chest, before your sent falling to the ground on your butt to the ground. "Ow..." You mutter rubbing the small ache on your rear end.
"Izekeil!" You hear a voice call out, what seemed to be the voice of the man whom you bumped into.
Before you have any chance to apologize, he has the corgi in his arms, his face all wet and slick from the dog's open-mouthed licks of love.
